The cottage was lovely, accurately portrayed by the photos. It was cozy and had everything we needed. Our hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful with local recommendations and to provide us what we needed to visit the beach. Unfortunately, the beach on the property was not usable during our stay. The water was very rough due to wind, and there was a lot of sargassum (seaweed) washed upon the shore. This was a disappointment for us, as we rented the place specifically for the private beach. Thankfully we had a car and were able to drive elsewhere for beach visits. I just wish we had asked about the condition of the beach ahead of time.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Casa Chanty (Angy Suite). The beach is absolutely stunning and very private. We were worried about the seaweed that often gathers on beaches in the area, but the waters out front were crystal clear and had very little seaweed on the beach. They also rake away the sargassum several times a week. It was great to have so many options of places to sit both in and out of the sun by the beach. Our little roof top deck was definitely the best part of our suite, which was otherwise very comfortable, though a bit dark when inside. Both Cristina and Alberto were very helpful and accommodating. Cristina replied right away and was lovely in her communications. My only suggestion would to rent a car if you're wanting to get into Puerto Morelo (10 mins away) or other towns near by. Taxis can be expensive and it's not very convenient to take a local bus. We would definitely return!

Playa del secret is awesome place to stay. It is right by the be beach. The host was very friendly and super fast to respond to questions and any requests.

We stayed in Casa Chanty for 5 nights and had a great time. The beach access was amazing, as well as the shared outdoor spaces. Would definitely love to come back and stay in the larger suite upstairs next time. Chef Beto was the highlight of our stay! His cooking is incredible. We requested Ceviche, Tacos and margaritas and they were phenomenal. If you are planning to cook while you’re here you may need to pick up some basics at the grocery store in addition to food (coffee, cooking oil, spices, etc.). All other kitchen supplies were provided.
