This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit...centered on the far side of a meadow in the heart of the redwoods, within walking distance to town, it EASY to navigate your way around from here. 15 GOOD REASONS FOR RENTING THIS FARMHOUSE: 1.) Your comfort, peace, enjoyment, & safety are our primary concerns. 2.) Smallish dogs are welcomed (see our pet protocols & pics of our fenced in patio) :-). 3.) There are minimal cleaning fees 4.) The outdoor claw feet tubs on the private deck are to LIVE for. 5.) We share our fresh-laid chicken eggs whenever they share with us! :-) 6.) We want you to get the best and biggest bang for your buck possible.

 7.) We STILL take extra precautions to be Covid safe & make your stay as stressless as possible. We sanitize everything we can see & think of that gets touched by human hands.
 8.) We are certified by Airbnb to be "Covid Clean" and we take great pride in that! 9.) You can create an unforgettable experience at a very forgettable price. 10.) Almost every single view (inside & out) is a photo op. 11.) There is a big soaking tub/shower combo in the bathroom. 12.) It's a great place to have intimate events like weddings, retreats, and smallish gatherings (check in with us about how to arrange those). 13.) It’s on flat land, in a lovely valley, surrounded by lush redwoods (& has good parking and very little traffic!). 14.) It's super close to town AND... 15.) We want to STAY a super hosts! (That means we aim to please - ALWAYS!) 


3 REASONS NOT TO BOOK OUR FARMHOUSE…

 1.) If you don’t like quirky, color-rich Bohemian-styled decor…this may not be the place for you...lol, it is definitely eclectic & unconventional 

 2.) If you think a more simple, streamlined, modern type furniture and furnishings ambiance would be more to your liking. 

 3.) If you don’t like the sounds (chickens and roosters crowing), smells (cow and pigs - when they are there), and sights (chicken, rooster, and turkey meanderings) of farm-life living one of our other listings may be more suitable for you. :-) Our little FARMHOUSE has a super comfy king-sized bed (and luxuriously soft bedding) in the master bedroom with a TV behind the curtains. The room is black-out dark when the drapes are drawn and the deck right outside the master bedroom, in the back of the house, is a private place to bathe in the (covered) great outdoors in the side-by-side claw foot tubs. There is a queen sized (and actually quite comfortable) futon in the the very cozy little bedroom….also known as the den, the massage room, the reading room, and/or the dedicated work room for remote type workers. There are two options available for bedding in this room…one is super clean and comfy goose down-filled sleeping bags (washed after every single guest who uses them) and the other is regular bedding with padding, sheets, and blankets (all available in the hall closet). PLEASE NOTE: Here is one other thing to take into consideration before booking our Farmhouse...this bedroom has a futon in it because no other bed option we could find would either fit through the hallway configuration to get into the room or provide other options for the room itself even if we could get some other sleeping accommodation into it :-/. What that will mean to you (any guest) is that whomever stays in that room will have to pull the (actually very comfortable) futon out and put it back up again before leaving (I do most all of the cleaning and I just can't do it by myself) :'-(
 There is one smallish bathroom with a very biggish bathtub for your soaking pleasure as well as a big shower head. It is a room with a view of the expansive farmland in the valley surrounded by the lush redwood forest trees. 

 The laundry room has an old fashioned washer and dryer…and there is some detergent available for you to use if you don’t bring your own.

 The kitchen is fully equipped with everything one needs to feel right at home. From organic coffee to take out containers. We provide some fresh organic coffee beans, organic coffee grounds and an assortment of sweeteners and a powdered creamer. There is a French press available and a grinder as well as a blender, chopper, juicer, smoother, processor, toaster, and egg beater. 

 The patio, right outside the kitchen French doors is fully fenced in, and has plenty of seating options as well as a propane heat source to sit around and enjoy the lovely outdoors under cover. There are tables and chairs for outdoor dining and chatting and sunning :-) 
At the far back of the property there is a tent for playing games of ping-pong and/or for getting in out of the weather…with a bar and and a few barstools to make yourselves comfortable as well We have a corn hole set up coming soon and ample options for sitting, lounging, eating, and just hanging out in the private, yet expansive, open air yard too. 

In the very near future there will be a little outdoor bedroom for an extra person or two to join your party. I will have a self-managing little camping type “thunder bucket” in it since there will be no bathroom. 

 And also coming soon there will be a “gathering room” for intimate events like intimate weddings, retreats, reunions, and on-going yoga classes, massage, and other healing modalities :-) Check with us for details about that :-) 

We invite you to enjoy the uniqueness of our simple little farm with our free range chickens, turkeys, ducks, and sometimes cows and pigs here on the northern west coast of California. Our FARMHOUSE is only less than a mile (an easy walking distance) from the heart of Fortuna…and about 6 miles as the crow flies from Centerville Beach (about a 25 minute drive through the farmlands of Ferndale).

 As I am sitting here, looking out my window, while typing this up, I am reminded that (because there is a deer right in front of my face :-) we are nestled in the heart of a playground for wildlife. Wild animals are a natural part of the environment in our beautiful redwood forests and sometimes wander into and around our surrounding areas. The Farmhouse sits squarely in the center edge of a clearing in a meadow and is totally private and quiet, especially indoors. It is surrounded by neighbors that care for and look out for each other :-) We have gone to great lengths to make this house as allergen free and environmentally friendly to the best of our ability with the resources we have had available to us...but please take note that those conditions exist year 'round in most of Humboldt's coastal areas. In fact...be aware, IF you have extreme allergies please investigate Humboldt County Health Department during allergy season before you book with us. Parking is ample and very easy to navigate. There is room, during the summer months (June through October), to park your trailer or a large RV on the flat at the but there are no hooks ups (YET). There is a minimum of $45 a night charge for guests in a self-contained recreational vehicle. The flat is unavailable during the rainy season (November through May) because it becomes a mud bog.
