Como europeus que somos não estamos habituados aquele tipo de bairro. Meteu um bocado de receio, apesar de tudo nunca fomos interpolados por ninguém na rua e sempre correu tudo bem na deslocação entre o metro-casa-metro. A casa estava impecável e bastante limpa. Com a casa cheia fica um bocado difícil a utilização do chuveiro. O anfitrião foi sempre comunicativo, apreensivo e ate preocupado se estava tudo a correr bem.
While visiting the Bronx, be sure to enjoy:
Bronx Museum of the Arts, exhibits contemporary art that reflects the diverse cultures that make up the borough and focuses on political and social issues relevant to communities.
Edgar Allan Poe Cottage, travel back in time to the world of poet Edgar Allan Poe, during a visit to his namesake 19th century home, located between Kingsbridge Road and Grand Concourse. Poe spent the last years of his life with his ailing wife and mother-in-law in the cottage in the mid-19th century, hoping that the cool country air would help heal his wife.
The Bronx Zoo, the largest urban zoo in the country.
The 250-acre New York Botanical Garden is a historic attraction worth visiting for its many gardens, the iconic Holiday Train Show with miniature New York City landmarks, and the impressive Orchid Show (held at out from February to April).
Yankee Stadium Whether you're a baseball fan or not, a trip to Yankee Stadium, home of the 27-time World Series champions, is sure to be a memorable experience.
Pelham Bay Park, home to the largest park in New York City, Pelham Bay Park dwarfs Central Park three times and boasts oak forests, marshes, and miles of shoreline, all spread over 2,772 acres.
Orchard Beach A 1.1-mile-long beach, Orchard Beach is the only public beach in the Bronx and is considered "New York's Riviera."
City Island, this former shipbuilding enclave offers a more New England-style getaway, with antique shops, galleries, old Victorian homes, and a slower pace of life compared to the rest of the bustling city.
Van Cortlandt Park, with many opportunities to immerse yourself in this natural beauty with friends and family. There are ball fields and scattered play areas, and a public golf course for your recreation.
Bronx River, the city's only freshwater river, and visitors can enjoy a refreshing day on the water with canoeing and paddle boarding.
Wave Hill, part park and part horticultural gardens, provides visitors with a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature.
Bronx Night Market If you find yourself in the Bronx on a Saturday from May to October, head to Fordham Plaza for the free outdoor Bronx Night Market. It offers a sampling of New York City's diverse culinary delights from more than 100 food vendors, as well as live music from local talent.
