Stay a short walk but a world away from Petersburg's urban amenities in Strawberry Hill, a one-of-a-kind, lovingly restored home built in 1792. Once you arrive you will feel like you stepped into the 18th century. The Haxall Suite makes up the entire west wing of the second floor. Large, comfortable, and boasting lovely views of both the front and back of the property, this suite has a king bed, open sitting area around a historic hearth, private dressing room, and ensuite bathroom. Each suite has a bedroom, sitting room, and private bathroom. We provide 100% cotton sheets, 100% goose down duvets, and terrycloth robes for your comfort, as well as amenities and refreshments. All of the suites are climate controlled and have a smart TV for your entertainment.

The neighborhood Strawberry Hill is located in has houses built in an amazing range of architectural styles. It is great for walking. If you head east down the hill towards downtown you'll find coffee shops, restaurants, bars and TWO doughnut shops! And shopping, of course - especially antiquing. If you need more, downtown Richmond is only 25 miles away.
If you walk a block over to High Street and head west away from downtown you'll be paralleling the Appomattox River. Head north another two blocks and you'll reach a trail that runs along this gorgeous Virginia waterway.
We are just a few blocks in one direction from Petersburg's restaurants and coffee shops, and just a few blocks in the other direction from a lovely walking trail along the Appomattox River.
