Welcome to Against the Wind! located 30 minutes from Summersville Lake and 40 minutes from the New River Gorge National Park. The cabin sits on top of a grassy hill overlooking fields, forest and distant mountains. We are continually adding to it and are excited to see it evolve. The great room in the cabin is large, with high, vaulted ceilings and big windows that let lots of light in. On one end it has a functioning wood stove surrounded by large comfortable couches and chairs and on the other is a large dining table that seats large groups and over looks mountain views and stunning sunsets. Just off the main room is an expansive, fully equipped kitchen with an electric induction cooktop, oven, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and coffee grinder/brewer. The bathroom features tiled floors and tiled shower stall with rain shower and wand. The private bedroom off the kitchen has a queen sized bed and a picture window to look out while you lay in bed during a lazy morning at the cabin. Up the spiral staircase is a loft that overlooks the great room. The loft contains two twin beds that are set back for privacy and a cozy lounge area. For larger parties, there is a queen air mattress that can be used upstairs in the loft or downstairs in the great room. Outside, off the back door is a small porch that’s perfect for a morning coffee, looking out at the mountains in the distance.
