旺格努伊 · 整套民居 · 3室4床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · Midcentury Architectural Gem
Built in 1961, this architecturally designed house is light and bright and provides a very peaceful, private and relaxing setting. You’ll enjoy comfortable and stylish furnishings inkeeping with the era of the house. It has great views over the Whanganui surrounds and a lovely outlook towards the hills. On a clear day you can see Mt Taranaki. The house has polished wooden floors, a wood burner in the lounge and a heater in each bedroom. There is a lovely view from all north/north-west aspects. It is a very peaceful, quiet and relaxing place where you can truly unwind. There is a garage underneath the house suitable for a small car, with internal access to the house.
A really cool house to stay with lots of mid century touches. Gorgeous floorboards. Loved the fire in the lounge - was really special. The birdsong and views right out to Mount Taranaki all added to our great 24hrs in Whanganui.
Jess' place was as advertised, lovely view, felt like a home. It was east to find - Jess's communication was prompt and clear and proactive.
We had an amazing stay. Jess was awesome to deal with, the house is super cosy with cool retro decor and fittings. It had everything we needed. Definitely recommend and we can’t wait to come back! 5+++++ rating
The house is positioned at the top of the hill, under the iconic Bastia Hill Tower in a peaceful neighbourhood overlooking the city. The city centre is just a 2 minute drive away, where you’ll find some great eateries and cafes, especially on the main street and near the river front. Whanganui truly has something for everyone. If art is your thing there is the Sarjeant Gallery and numerous independent art galleries and studios showcasing the amazing local talent. If you love the outdoors you can take a river cruise on the Waimarie, or head out to Bushy Park and see rare native bird life. For the kids the family friendly Kowhai Park playground is always a hit, and it’s right at the bottom of our hill. The Whanganui Regional Museum always has something intriguing to learn about. For sports there are events at Cooks Gardens, the stock cars or you could hire a bike and ride along the Upokongaro to Tasman Sea cycle trail.
Just a two minute drive to the heart of the city, cafes and visitor information centre. If you’re keen, it would be a 20 minute walk to town, but would be longer back up hill. A taxi from town will cost around $12-$15.
自我介绍
Kia ora, We’ve had fun travelling all around Aotearoa and the rest of the world, and are currently enjoying a quieter life in Whanganui with our two young children. We’re passionate about all things midcentury, including this beautiful house! It’s self check in but we’re just down the road if you need anything, and we’re more than happy to share our local knowledge. Safe travels and best wishes, Jess & Costas
