Pagrati is a district of the eastern part of the Municipality of Athens, which extends east of Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, a short distance from the historic centre of Athens. The main attraction of the Pangrati area is the Panathinaiko Stadium. The National Gallery, the Goulandris Foundation's Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Research Foundation are located in the wider area of the district, while the Athens Conservatory, the Byzantine Museum, the Officers' Club and the War Museum are a short distance away. Pagrati developed with the centre of the area being Evtychidou Street (where the apartment is located), where its residents and other Athenians used to hang out and Ymittou Street, where mainly residents of the surrounding refugee districts of Vyronas and Kaisariani used to hang out. Pagrati thus became the centre of the south-eastern areas of Athens, which met the needs of the residents of the surrounding areas for shopping, entertainment and services. An important commercial centre of Pagrati until today is Ymittou Street and other major streets near Pagrati Square. In Pagrati, on Ymittou Street, there is also the oldest operating cinema in Athens, the Palace Cinema, which has been operating continuously since 1925. In Pagrati, in addition to the museums and centres of spirit mentioned above, there are the Museum of Greek Scouting, the Postal and Philatelic Museum and the Nikolaos Perantinos Sculpture Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basil and Elise Goulandris
Foundation. Opposite the apartment is the Pagrati Grove, which was planted in 1908 by the Philodassian Association under the care of Queen Sophia, who was particularly curious about the greenery of Athens. The Grove has a total area of 30 acres, which was granted by the Petraki Monastery. In the beginning it had only pine trees, but after 1936, when it was granted to the Municipality of Athens, other trees such as pine trees, gazes, acacia, and shrubs were planted. Pagrati is a predominantly urban neighborhood of
Athens in which many personalities of modern Greece lived occasionally or more, grew up and created. The personality associated with Pagrati more than any other is that of the music composer Manos Hadjidakis, who lived there for the longest and most creative part of his life.

You can easily get from/to the airport by taking the bus line X95 or the blue metro line with a stop at "Evangelismos". From there, take bus 203 or 211 and get off at "Alsos" station. The apartment is a 1-minute walk away.
In addition, from/to the port of Piraeus, you can go via the green line of the electric train and then via the blue line of the metro. Otherwise, there are many possibilities via various bus combinations.
If you decide to take a taxi from/to the airport the cost of the trip is estimated at 40-50€ and takes about 40 minutes, while the cost from/to the port of Piraeus is 15€ and the duration of the trip is 25 minutes.
If you are moving by public transport, then you can easily and in a very short time reach the center of Athens, Syntagma and Monastiraki, by taking the blue line metro to the Evaggelismos stop, which is just a few minutes from the apartment. A daily travel pass for all means of transport costs 4.5 euros and a
five-day pass costs 9 euros.
