This place is very convenient to everything Hilo. Despite being late for my check in, I was able to easily enter the house. Everything was clean and already setup. Toby knew the local area well. If you’re looking for a place for a reasonable price, I highly recommend.

Great place to stay if you don't mind sharing a bathroom or kitchen. Other guests were great to get along with.

Overall, this was a good stay. The design of the home is lovely, the bed was super comfy, and there’s ample space for luggage/clothes etc. Having a desk in the room would’ve been nice but I knew there wasn’t one when I booked. Toby’s sister, Jenny, who was living there at the time, was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable during the stay. One thing that could be improved is clearer communication. They are renovating the house while still taking guests, but Toby didn’t communicate that after I booked. She told me that there was a dog living there (there were actually 2) but didn’t mention the renovations. It was only when I arrived that Jenny told me about it and warned me that it would be loud, which it was, during the day and until after 9pm some nights. I really think this is something that should be noted on the listing so that folks have a chance to decide whether or not they’re okay with it before booking.
