There are 3 bedrooms off of the hallway, all including dressers and closet space. The master has a king bed with a Tempurpedic mattress. A second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has a trundle bed which can be used as a single or pulled out (and even raised if desired) to offer a double sleeping option. The third bedroom also provides an office space with a desk and other supplies. There is also a pack 'n play, high chair and stroller for guests with young children. The bathroom has been recently remodeled and contains all of the comforts of home in case you forget anything during your travels. In the basement is a washer and dryer, laundry basket & supplies, iron and ironing board. Outside the kitchen door is a spacious deck with a separate seating & dining area. Outdoor furniture as well as a grill and fire pit are available from Memorial Day weekend into early fall as weather permits. There is a large backyard with outdoor games and chairs in the shed. The garage is available to keep sports equipment and to empty trash, but it is not available for cars at this time. We invite you to make yourself at home.
My friends and I had an incredible time in the Berkshires and Karen’s place was a highlight! Her place has everything you could possibly need, the unobstructed view of the pond was lovely and made for a nice morning walk. Would gladly visit again!!
We had a great stay! Extremely well stocked, very comfortable, would absolutely return. We were traveling with 2 kids (3 & 5) and the space was perfect for us.
Everyone really enjoyed their stay here. Karen's home is beautifully furnished and well-appointed. Everyone really enjoyed the new appliances as well as the lovely view of the reservoir. Location was super, very close to local ski slopes. Thank you for a great stay!
Cheshire is a quiet, rural community just north of Pittsfield in the heart of the Berkshires and close to some major cultural and outdoor venues. We are about 30 minutes from the Clark Art Museum in Williamstown and Tanglewood in Lenox, 20 minutes from Mass MoCA in North Adams, 20 minutes from Jiminy Peak Ski Area & Notchview Cross Country Ski Center, and 10 minutes from the base of Mt. Greylock Reservation and the Greylock Glen recreation area. Our property is adjacent to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, a 12.7 mile bike trail that follows the Hoosac River and Cheshire Lake from Adams to Pittsfield. You can literally walk out the door to access the bike trail. The lake is directly across the street, with access to boating in the summer and ice fishing/skating in the winter. The Appalachian Trail trailhead is less than 5 minutes from the property.
Local amenities include Whitney's Farm Market just a couple miles down the road, with a small grocery, great deli & bakery, local produce and their own fresh grown corn. Lakeview Orchards, around the backside of the lake, features seasonal pick your own fruit, delicious cider donuts, and an array of home cooked Polish food. Square Roots farm opposite Lakeview has fresh free range eggs. There is a nearby liquor & wine store, gas station and convenient store, as well as a shopping center 10 minutes down the road in Pittsfield, with restaurants, supermarkets, retail stores and fitness centers, and a new indoor children's playground. Starting in spring 2024 the Cheshire Outpost outdoor recreation store will be opening right next door, with rentals of bicycles, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards.
A car is necessary to get around the Berkshires.
