We stayed in Allendale as a base to get to the nearby Hexham races. Allendale itself was everything we wanted it to be, a peaceful location in beautiful surroundings. There are a couple of pubs and a shop all within a few hundred yards of the property which was very useful and meant we could get everything we needed for the weekend. The property was clean, light and airy throughout and was more than comfortable for the 5 guests we had. Our bed was large and super comfortable in what I would call the main bedroom. Parking was no issue with there being plenty of room immediately outside the property for multiple cars including a big 4x4 and the first to arrive of our guests was checked in and shown the ropes in the house and some tips on the local area. It was certainly nice to sit outside the front of the property in the sun after getting in and settled! All in all we had an excellent stay and would certainly return to what is a lovely locale, a high quality property with great hosts

A brilliant find and totally lived up to the description. From start to finish a friendly and professional knowledgeable host(s). Perfect for the weekend I had planned. Beautiful drive to the accommodation and the village itself is so beautiful and quiet. Lots of local village stores and facilities. Loved it so much I’ll definitely be back. Especially to see the amazing Sci Fi Doctor WHO Museum in the village just a minutes walk away. Well worth the visit for The Accommodation. Village and Doctor WHO. Oh The Art Gallery and in house artists is amazing with Unique Artists and Goods they produce on sale in the shop and cafe directly below. A Wonderful Weekend.

Janice and Dorothy had thought of everything. If you ever stay somewhere and think “I wish they’d …” well they had! The house was lovely and clean and a stones throw from the shop and 2 pubs. You are spoilt for choice for walks in absolutely stunning countryside. We would highly recommend.

Great arrival! Kitchen was unexpectedly pre-stocked, after a day of travelling a very relaxed start of the Allendale adventure. Cottage unbelievable clean, Dorothy made us feel at home, just a great stay!
