This cottage is amazing. The setting is wonderful and the cottage is larger than you would think. Very cosy with a well stocked kitchen. Take supplies and some wood for the fire. Would highly recommend.
The perfect get away, very quiet, walks on the door step and a very peaceful area. However, a few tweaks needed to make it five star: The TV Ariel does not work, apart from streaming Netflix, Amazon, BBC and YouTube - no other channels can be added (it’s a first gen smart tv) and you’ll need to input your own account info. There is also a dvd player, but the cable is missing so that isn’t usable either. The outside light at the back of the property only occasionally works and needs changing, the front light is essential get up and down the front door as the steps are very uneven, but it took us a long time to find the switch for it as that was not mentioned in the greeting pack (it’s at the front door on one of the ceiling rafters). There was also only one wine glass available for use - all small things but added up did make for a frustrating stay as they are so easily fixed. We would like to stay there again and hope this feedback helps the owner.
Love staying here but this time whilst snuggled up under our blankets we couldn’t get the television to work properly. We had to watch programmes through You tube. Netflix wouldn’t let us log in. Tiny minor glitch to a lively few days away
Amazing location for scenery and landscape, felt very rural and wild. local towns and nearby. The house in general needs some maintenance, the shower doesn't work, but that isn't super clear in the listing, the water is from a natural spring and therefore a bit yellow, so though it's safe to drink, again, that isn't super clear in the listing. The garden hasn't been maintained so it doesn't feel like a place to spend time, and the furniture and kitchen in particular is just a bit unloved. BUT, it's unique and homely and comfortable and we had a good stay.
We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage felt like home straight away. The views are beautiful, and the stars you can see at night are amazing. It was a lot bigger than what we were expecting, which was a nice surprise. Very clean and tidy, everything you need is provided. We will definitely be booking again very soon!
