Welcome to our custom-built Aframe in the woods just 90 minutes from Nashville. This quiet retreat perched on the Cumberland Plateau gives you access to the hikes and waterfalls the area is known for, while offering an elevated guest experience. Enjoy the soaking tub, gas fireplace, fast wifi, Smart TV, well-appointed kitchen, and bluff views. Sewanee University, Cumberland Caverns, Fiery Gizzard, and Sweetens Cove are all within a short drive. Sorry, no parties, events, or photoshoots. null.

My favourite Airbnb ever. I’d choose Anna and Thom’s place over a 5 star hotel. Absolutely stunning property with breathtaking views over the valley. The way the property has been built to maximise the views and light is really special. Finished beautifully yet still homely and comfortable. The Flamingo Estate products are such a treat. The bath tub was just divine to relax in with a book. The pour over coffee station is such a perfect way to start the day. The kitchen is well equipped. The bed is sublimely comfortable. The towels are soft. I could go on… The stay frame is also deceivingly spacious and feels really private. It’s also on a private estate which is peaceful, safe and secluded. The nearby towns of Sewanee and Monteagle are cute and highly recommend Lunch for lunch and also if you want to pick up some local eggs, meat etc to cook up at home. It’s honestly the perfect spot for a few days of R&R. Book it. You won’t regret it.

We were here for accepted students day at Sewannee. The A frame was very convenient to campus, was quiet and peaceful and aesthetically pleasing. Loved the terrazzo floors in the downstairs bathroom! Plan on returning for the next four years!

The House is amazing. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. I can't remember staying at a nicer house. Anna was very helpful with where the best hikes were. We would love to stay here again.

Repeat guests here! Everything about our stay here was perfect. It's obvious that a lot of meticulous care went into the design of this space, down to the scent the moment you walk in. The hosts are friendly, communicative and make the entire stay a breeze. It's our new favorite "staycation" spot. Can't say enough good things about this stunning A Frame. We'll be back (again, and again)!!

Ride Share isn't available out here so you'll need a car to get around. We've got parking for at least 3 cars in the driveway.
The aframe is located in a secluded community that offers plenty of privacy. We do want to be respectful of our neighbors. See HOA policy below.

Required STR Lease Agreement Clauses
Note: The language below must be posted on the rental platform site listing and prominently displayed within the Rental Property.
To the extent now or hereafter permitted by applicable law, the lessee shall hold harmless the Cooley’s Rift Homeowners’ Association, Inc. from and against any and all liability related to access to and use of any Association facilities, structures, roadways, gate, natural habitats (including lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and trails) or other common areas contained within the Cooley’s Rift community.
The lessee also acknowledges and agrees to abide by all Cooley’s Rift rules.
Summary of Rules for Owners & Guests
Note: The following rules must be provided directly to tenants and prominently displayed in the residence by the owners. Owners may convey additional rules as they deem appropriate.
No Open Burning - Fires are permitted in pavilion firepit and owner firepits. Violation of this policy is subject to $1000.00 fine.
Road Weight Limits - 10 ton per axle.
Road Speed Limit 25 MPH - Please watch carefully for walkers, joggers, bikers.
Enjoy trail system at your own risk.
All Cooley’s Rift amenities are for owners in good standing and their invited guests only.
Enjoy Lake Louisa at your own risk. Persons under 14 must have adult supervision.
No gas motors allowed on Lake Louisa.
Quiet Hours - Please limit noise after 10:00 PM.
No Hunting – No Discharge of Firearms – No Fireworks

Hi there! I'm a Michigan-born creative currently living in Nashville with my partner and mischievous pup. We've had the chance to stay in stunning Airbnb's around the world and love how it allows you to experience places less like a tourist and more as a local would. I grew up coming to the Leelanau area with family but it wasn't until I returned as an adult that I could really appreciate the magic of the lakes, the local food, and the generous people. As a designer, I live for those special details that give a home a sense of place and the cottage is no exception. You'll find a well-appointed space that oozes with up north charm. This cottage is a family heirloom (hence the name), but by the time you leave, we hope you feel a little like it's part of your family, as well.
