Bohorok · 客房里的独立房间 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Cosy hornbill nest hideaway
Retreat to the rafters of our traditional Hornbill's Nest, and bask in the breathtaking view of rice paddy fields, koi fish ponds and mountainous jungle horizon! Built using sustainable and traditional techniques, our second floor Hornbill Nest with its three private balconies and queen sized double bed, offers the perfect space to relax and rejuvenate after a long, hard jungle expedition! Access to the restaurant and shared bathroom is via a passion fruit vine entwined private staircase!
Situated on the edge of Jawa Dalam village, our property looks out over the irrigation river, rice paddy fields and mountainous jungle. If you wake up before the clouds roll in, you can even spot Mount Sinabung (active volcano) smoking in the distance!
There are several corner shops and local street food stalls found along our street, whilst the local Friday market is a mere 10mins walk from the lodge. Even better the Indonesian super markets Alphamart and Indomaret, are just a 5 minute walk down the irrigation path.
There are many peaceful walks you can take through the rice fields (just ask our dog Paddy to guide you!) and you might even stumble across the community centre and charity school, Bukit Lawang Trust, that brought host Lily to Sumatra in the first place!
There are several other guesthouses, restaurants and cafes (Gino's place, Soul Bar, Masno's cafe...) found within a ten minute walking radius, whilst the Bukit Lawang tourist centre is 10 mins away by bicycle, scooter or tuktuk. Please let us know if you would like to hire a bicycle or scooter during your time with us!
Our guests generally tend to walk around the surrounding neighbourhood, however we have bicycles, scooters and motorbikes available for rental.
Both our neighbours are tuktuk drivers, and as we are always keen to spread the 'rejiki' (good fortune) around many of our guests travel with them.
自我介绍
British born, European mongrel who's spent the last 7years volunteering, teaching and hosting in Sumatra! I first came to Sumatra to manage the Bukit Lawang Trust, and met my now husband Kakau after a year of jungle life; since then we have been building our own little slice of paradise which we would love to share with you! Late last year we had a first child, Osaka, who is arguably the most famous (and smiliest) little lad in Bukit Lawang.
