If your looking for one of the best pints of Guinness in Ireland, head to the nearby Helen's Bar where you can sit out on the pier and enjoy the Guinness with a lovely bowl of mussels fresh from the sea. Also within reach is Derreen Gardens and Cafe should you fancy a light bite in a picture-perfect garden setting or head out to Josie's Restaurant for a lakeside lunch. For the active bunch amongst you, find Star Outdoors on the Kenmare road which offers sea water activities seasonally with paintballing, kayaking, sailing, crazy golf and inflatable courses to keep you occupied.
Close by is Alpaca trekking at the Naked Sheep. The walking and cycling trails are right on the doorstep and this incredible area is the perfect cycling spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Venture into the tourist hotspot, the seaside town of Kenmare with its great offering of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, petrol stations and art galleries. Kenmare is the closest main town for shopping and hosts a farmers market every Wednesday and is a short drive from the house. Ardgroom is a small village on the Beara Peninsula crossing over into County Cork but is within a half an hours drive from the house. Here you will find a petrol station, a deli, food shop and cafe.
