布卢明顿 · 整套客房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Tiny guest house
This little granny flat is an inspiring, light-filled space with all of the basics, located in a friendly neighborhood, and literally steps away from the host house. With one bed (an American Leather pullout coach in a full queen size), a full bathroom with shower, and kitchenette, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house is located a short walk from a coffee shop, restaurant, yoga, and more, and is an easy one mile walk from downtown Bloomington. All are welcome! This tiny guest unit is the former garage for our 1920's era house. It wouldn't fit a car, so we converted it into a guest space and office, with full bathroom and kitchenette. We really love it, and if you read all of the description, you will know whether you'll love it too. If our space appeals to you, we'll be happy to host you! The guest bed is an American Leather sleeper sofa with the 5 inch gel mattress. If you search for that, you can see what the mattress looks like to decide if you think you will be comfortable. It has a firm feel. There are no bars, and we find it comfortable to sleep on, but not all sleeper sofas are for every sleeper. Our bedding is cotton, with firm and soft pillows, spare blanket, and a ceiling fan above for our hot sleepers. The bathroom has a standard toilet and stall-style shower, with a tiny sink and pocket door. We'll have towels, wash cloths, hand towels, and bath mat ready for you, as well as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The kitchenette has a drip coffee maker, tea kettle, and mini-fridge. There are 2 plates, mugs, bowls, silverware, etc., as well as dish soap and such for washing up. The bottom level also has a big comfy couch, a table and 2 chairs, and a space heater. The bottom level does get pretty chilly when it's cold outside, so you'll need to use the space heater if you're spending time down there during a cold day. Our guests: * Are able to climb stairs - we're so sorry it's not accessible, but it's really not. * Don't mind that our family is literally a few feet away in our house. We will be coming and going from our back door, and may be in the backyard. We'll be happy to chat if you'd like to, but we'll also happily give you space. We won't be loud late at night or early in the morning. * Are okay with lots of morning sunlight. We'll have eye masks there for your sleeping comfort, but all of those wonderful windows let it in a ton of light, and the top-down bottom-up shades provide privacy, but only filter the sunlight. * Are okay with not every window having a covering. The downstairs small main door has a built-in shade, but all other windows do not. The upstairs triangle windows also don't have shades, but due to their positioning, they do not compromise privacy. I hope we haven't put you off with the details, but we know it's important to make sure we set your expectations at the right level. We are a very friendly family, and we especially hope to welcome our LGBTQ+ guests with our whole hearts. You are welcome and loved here.
Margie was quick to respond to our last minute booking- the home is cozy and has everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend if staying in Bloomington!
The Bryan Park neighborhood is a friendly place to walk and say hello to your neighbors. We enjoy having Bryan Park close by, and Switchyard Park is just a short walk away as well.
Kirkwood Avenue and downtown are a mile north, and it's very easy to walk there through the neighborhood, or by walking over to the B-Line and heading to downtown that way.
Soma Coffee, Feta Kitchen, and Nourishing Heart Yoga are all located on the south side of the neighborhood, all also walkable.
The house has ample free street parking on the adjacent street, and coming to and from the house to the street is straightforward.
Bloomington has ample Uber and Lyft availability through the day and night, and it's also easy to walk to downtown and the Indiana University campus from the house - it's a mile north. You can also walk about half a mile south to Soma Coffee, Feta Kitchen, and Nourishing Heart Yoga.

I love Bloomington and the beautiful hills and forests of Southern Indiana! I love our local food, awesome small businesses, incredible community-based arts and public service nonprofits, the urban deer (truly - watch out for them driving around town!), the students, the size - not too big, not too small. I also love welcoming guests to our home. Being an Airbnb host supports my belief that people are good and sharing is wonderful!
