A private (shared) drive leads to a modest cottage on the middle fork of the Feather River. The neighbors are in close proximity, live here year round, and are quiet. Please be respectful. The cottage is comfortable, as is the 600 square deck. Make yourself your perfect morning drink, and some waffles while you’re at it. Kick back and enjoy all the Sierra Valley has to offer. Every few days, a train horn will sound in the night so be aware. The trains come and go at a sleepy pace. Enjoy! Feather Cottage has two bedrooms, both with memory foam queen beds, with medium and firm pillows. Each room has a sound machine, nightstand storage, hanging space, and a luggage rack. The rooms are cozy. There is a queen air mattress with electric pump for overflow sleeping. There are plenty of fluffy towels, good water pressure, and a well stocked kitchen. Enjoy the comforts of home at the cottage.

Great deal for newly renovated place right on the feather river. Lisa was very helpful and flexible with our last minute check in. Would highly recommend to others for the central location in Portola and the beautiful surroundings.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Lisa's. The cottage is beautifully appointed, but not cluttered so we seamlessly transitioned our belongings. The space was very comfortable. You can tell Lisa gave lots of thought to the decor and amenities to ensure a peaceful space that wasn't overwhelmed with stuff. Lisa was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for our family, including high chair, pack and play, and outlet covers. She offered wonderful tips on activities and local restaurants. We loved our little winter vacation!
Great stay! Lisa's house was spotless, comfy, and well decorated and supplied. Great little touches throughout. The view of the river, mountains, and passing freight trains were lovely. very quiet and peaceful stay as well. location couldn't be beat, central in the charming town of Portola and a short walk to pretty much anything in town. Lisa was friendly and proactive with communication and recommendations. Can't wait to stay again!
Lisa allowed me to stay in the cottage for 3 months. The cottage is brand new and is a great stay! I was sad to leave.

This is a quiet, tranquil and walkable neighborhood. Within a 5 minute walk is the 2.5 mile loop river walk with gorgeous views of the Feather River. In the same park, you’ll find an 18 hole disc golf course ($5 to play the course - honor donation at the park). Portola City Park is just over has walking trails, bike trails, bmx park, skate park, pickleball courts, pool, volleyball courts and more is a 10 minute walk, just over the bridge on Gullings Street. Old Town Portola with a few quaint shops, eateries, and the Railroad Museum are within a 10 minute walk as well. The Portola Frosty is just a block away, and popular for their hamburgers, ice cream cones, and shakes. Leonard’s Market and the Feather River Coop are well stocked for groceries, and anything you might need. Both are a short walk from the Cottage.
The Sierra Valley is home to numerous lakes, golf courses, and is a perfect landscape for fishing, cycling, hiking, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and more!
You can easily walk to many activities from the Cottage, as well as drive, or ride a bike. Parking is ample most anywhere you go in Portola.

I'm very neat and orderly. I live and work in 850 square feet - so organization and cleanliness is a must for me. I use the same consideration when visiting others' homes.
