The house has terrific airflow, and each room has air conditioning. Fast WiFi throughout the house. Rooms come with high quality 100% cotton linens, bath towels and pool towels. Magu believes that hand made is a legacy worth exploring and the home reflects that. The feel of the home is peaceful, connected and a relaxing oasis. Our bed and breakfast provides privacy with our individual bungalows and includes fresh daily breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, pastries and fresh local fruit. The hammocks under the palms and traditional Mexican Acapulco style furniture lounge seating next to the amazing pool create for a great place to re-charge. The large garden trees & palms create a canopy light effect over the pool and garden area making it a true oasis. This peaceful, fresh space is a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the historic city center of Merida or a Mayan jungle adventures like, cenotes, Mayan ruins, beaches, or magical neighbor towns.

Mario and Rene were excellent hosts. They were kind, responsive, and helpful. They made local recommendations and were flexible enough to pack us a to-go breakfast for a very early excursion (btw, the breakfasts were incredible every day). The location was 10-20 min walking to all of the best restaurants, shopping, and museums. We really noticed the thought put into the decor. Every detail made sense and transformed the city house to a true oasis.
We had the most wonderful stay at Casa Magu and I would highly recommend this AirBnb to anyone staying in Mérida. We booked out all three rooms over Christmas. Mario and Rene are friendly and welcoming and have done an incredible job with the property. Each room is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Beds are large and comfortable and there is a great shower. The pool and shady garden are perfect for the hot Mérida weather. We loved the coffee and breakfast left for us each morning in the kitchen. Location is great for walking to all the main sights in Merida. Overall, a perfect place for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Our stay was outstanding. Nicely appointed private rooms, we’ll maintained grounds and utmost attention paid to us by Mario whenever needed. One of the better of the many Airbnb stays we’ve tried. The morning coffee and breakfast is a nice touch and greatly appreciated. It’s obvious theirs is a mission of passion and not one of necessity. Without question I would return. We’ll done Mario!
Beautiful house and a great host! The house was perfect - great rooms, comfortable beds, quiet surroundings, beautiful garden and amazing pool. Mario was responsive, helpful and his breakfast spread was so tasty and beautifully set. I will definitely be back to visit Merida and stay with Mario and Rene. ♥️
Excelente ubicación, un magnífico lugar, estéticamente bellísimo, se siente como en casa, la piscina es bastante amplia, el lugar siempre está impecable y cada mañana te reciben con un delicioso desayuno; Mario y René siempre te escucharán en cualquier duda o problema que tengas, lo recomiendo ampliamente, los host son personas hermosas y muy atentos; si regreso a Mérida sin pensarlo llegaría nuevamente a Casa Magu.🩷

Casa Magu is located in the Santa Ana Neighborhood, We are conveniently close to major attractions in Centro and can get to most attractions with in a 8-15 min walk. This is a very peaceful and secure neighborhood and lots of travelers choose this neighborhood to stay. Merida centro is a very walkable city, filled with great architecture, shops, restaurants and culture. The historic city center is perfect for early morning and evening exploration for best enjoyment of the weather. There are several plazas with in the city center to enjoy with live music/events alternating every day of the week. Don't miss out! Some of Magu's favorites are; Plaza Santa Ana, Paseo Montejo, Parque Santa Lucia, Parque de los Hidalgos and plaza Grande. Also the famed Paseo Montejo is a very walkable distance. All from 8 to 15 minute walk away from CASA MAGU
Merida Historic city center is a very walkable city to explore and close to all main attractions with in 8 to 15 walk. Uber & traditional taxi is available in the entire city as well
