Like walking into your grandparent’s house. Welcoming, cozy, relaxing and has everything you need. A great job of making a warm environment! We came for a few nights of relaxing, just the two of us. Just far enough away from it all. Nice nature trails and atmosphere. We never got cold even with ice out side. The spa services on site are a super convenient walk down the hill.

This was my 2nd stay here (first in 2017) and everything was just as I remember it-absolutely perfect! I’ve stayed in a lot of cabins and Airbnbs and this is by far my favorite! So secluded, peaceful and just beautiful! Thank you for going the EXTRA mile to make this one of my favorite places on Earth! (my sister agrees!)

We had a wonderful time at the secluded cabin in the woods. plenty of space for family dinners. Lots of amenities that were not expected in the kitchen and bathroom. Especially loved the goat milk soap. Joe and nikki lopez

The Cabin Retreat was exactly what our family hoped for when we travelled from DFW to the Hot Springs area for a short memory-making getaway. When we arrived, we were greeted by special touches with attention to detail such as: the fragrance of a candle burning, a huge bowl of fresh fruit on the island, and groceries in the fridge to make breakfast! The pints of Haagen Dazs ice cream were also finished off by the time we left; what a treat! There were bars of goat milk Zum bar boutique soaps provided as well. Both the cabin and the property were rustic, beautiful, homey, cozy, comfortable, convenient, and we enjoyed every bit of it! We saw deer on the property more than once during our stay. Our family (2 are professional musicians) made music videos in several locations outdoors; by the creek, the tree swing, the bench swing, the wishing well, a bamboo forest, lots of mossy trails, and even the barnyard! Hosts, Evan and Jennifer, were responsive and helpful, regarding recommendations for what to see and do in the area, where to go hiking, restaurants, tips in case we lost power due to snow (the snow came, but power never went out). Not to worry, the cabin heater kept us toasty warm! We prepared every meal in the kitchen, except one, when we picked up delicious To-Go dinners from Rolando’s Ecuadorian Restaurant. The views of the mountains and Lake Ouachita at the top of Hickory Nut Mtn were worth the drive up! Also, we hiked about a 3 mile loop from the Lake Ouachita Tompkins Bend campground/playground area (public restrooms were available at the parking lot). The hike was perfect, as it was easy to moderate, not too steep, and incredibly beautiful. We absolutely loved hiking Lake Catherine State Park trails; the water features, stone and wood steps, rustic bridges, waterfalls, etc. were absolutely gorgeous. Our family hopes to return to Hot Springs, and we would be thrilled to stay at The Cabin Retreat again!
