Hi, my name's Andrew If you are coming for a hen or stag do or intend to be out later than one in the morning then I ask you to book somewhere else as I do not want my other guests' sleep to be disturbed. I used to be a headteacher in London. Now I'm a writer and screenwriter working from home. I have a Scottish terrier, or Scottie dog, called Tilly. The house is a five minute walk from the train station. Within ten minutes, you can walk to the beach, the North Laine, The Royal Pavilion and the Lanes. The train journey to the Universities is nine minutes. The train journey to Gatwick is thirty minutes and an hour to London. I love Brighton and keen for visitors to experience all that the city has to offer. I became an Airbnb host in April 2014 and have hosted over eight thousand guests and absolutely love it. I have four rooms available. At the top of the house is my Seaview Attic Room which has its own bath, wc and sink and is a double room. Next to that is my Disney Room. It has a double bed but better for a single person as it's my smallest room. On the first floor are my Library Room which has a double bed and all my books and my Butterfly Room which can be a double or twin room. There are Sharpies on hand to colour in the wallpaper. The shower room and wc are on this floor. Xiaohong and her daughter from China stayed for three months in 2021 : 'Andrew’s room is in a great location, and within 10 minutes walk to the left is Brighton Railway Station. A few minutes walk to the right is Brighton’s busiest street and beach. He takes his room seriously as a hotel Business, provide breakfast with fruit and milk. The people are also super nice. He said that he has received 8000 guests so he is very experienced. You will feel his tolerance, easy-going and sunny smile. I don’t know English and I’m new to the British, Andrew A lot of help, so if you are worried about language barriers, visitors can rest assured to reserve his room, no matter whether it is the room or himself.' All descriptions concerning central location, generous breakfast supplies and overall comfort are accurate, so rather than pile on further superlatives, I'll happily confirm that Andrew is indeed a super-host par excellence and that my short stay was, like Mary Poppins, 'practically perfect in every way'. I'll be back soon. May 2021 This is what Meg said January 2018: 'Andrew is the kindest and warmest person to have ever welcomed us into their home. He’s so kind and generous, offering above and beyond hospitality and is always more than willing to offer advice on things to do / places to eat / etc. The location of Andrew’s place is absolutely prime for getting around the city and when he says it’s a 5 minute walk, that’s because it actually is! The room is incredibly cosy and the bed is very comfortable. A very warm and welcoming room (just like the previous room of Andrew’s I’ve stayed at) that we’ll definitely be staying in again in the near future!' Walking my dog in the churchyard, meeting up with friends for a coffee, watching a film at the Duke of York's, struggling with a crossword and a show at the Komedia are some of my favourite activities. My top five places in Brighton are the Dome, The Pavilion, The West Pier, The North Laine and the kissing sculpture on the seafront. I've been up the i360 tower many times already. Much as I love Brighton, I need to visit a Greek island at least once a year, as well as have a city break. I LOVE guests to feel at home. I provide guests with breakfast of cereal, juice, toast, spreads, pastries, fruit, cereal bars, tea and coffee. I I have soya, cow’s and oat milk and vegan spread. Although I wouldn't be offended in the slightest if you decide to go out for breakfast. Billie's and Bill's are within five minutes walk. My favourite restaurants are Pompoko, Planet India, V.I.P., Iydea, La Choza, Pho, The Curry Leaf, Franco Manca, Manju's, Terre a Terre and Food for Friends. Best places for coffee are Coho, Black Mocha, Flour Pot, Presuming Ed, The Lanes Coffee House and Twin Pines. But if you find a new one, do let me know. If you would like to use my kitchen for cooking, preparing food or eat a takeway at my dining room table, feel free. I provide towels for guests and if you've forgotten something, just ask. I even have a hair dryer even though I'm bald! People visit Brighton for amazing reasons. Whether it's attending a stand-up comedy course, learning to be an aerial dancer, setting up an art installation at a local gallery, attending a conference or a wedding, performing at a gig, paragliding at Seven Sisters, improving your English skills at one of our great language schools, attending a graduation ceremony or a tattoo convention, attending a tea-blending session, petting lambs on a farm on Easter Sunday, participating in a paranormal ghost-hunt or travelling from the other side of the world to meet a new grandchild, I love to hear about it. The reason to beat at the moment is Greg, who flew all the way from Melbourne to watch his favourite band at the Brighton Dome. Stop press! Peter and Chloe became engaged while staying at my house and Jamie and Richard celebrated their civil partnership here.
