If you love the seaside, look no further than St Bees, 3 miles away. This coastal Cumbrian town with a long stretch of sandy beach is perfect for your bucket and spade. It’s also the most westerly part of Cumbria and the starting point for the famous Alfred Wainwright Coast to Coast walk. If you like cycling, be sure to bring your bikes along as there are some beautiful routes along the coast, or for a relaxing stroll or a rugged climb you can access plenty of nature trails and woodland walks. Within a short drive you can climb the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike. Head to the east and within 3 miles is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Lake District National Park.
