High upon a green, Caribbean mountain the place to 'free your mind' awaits. Nature lovers who enjoy tropical flowers, palm trees, ocean views and warm hospitality will find El Momo to be the perfect retreat. You will feel like Robinson Crusoe. A set of stairs leads to seven small wooden cottages, each surrounded by tropical gardens. The whole property is located on a hillside, so it's quite a climb! The simple, airy, one-room-cottages are built of warm wood and decorated with original artwork. Each cottage offers amazing ocean views and fantastic ocean sunsets from October to March, even from the bathroom building directly next to the cottage. The lush tropical vegetation around the cottages provides a private atmosphere. Mosquitoes are very rare, so you can sit on the terrace enjoying the sunset without any repellent. No safes or keys are necessary, because crime simply doesn’t exist and there are no tv’s in the room.

Notre hôte, rapidement après l'enregistrement de notre réservation, nous a transmis des informations détaillées, et notamment le fait que ce petit coin de paradis pouvait ne pas être pour tous, et c'est le cas! Il est situé dans un lieu paisible et en retrait de tout (comme l'île diront certains!), tout en haut d'une volée de marches qui n'en finit plus, à 15 minutes demandantes de marche du village. Bref, c'était... parfait pour nous!!! Nous avons adoré notre séjour, finalement partagé dans 2 casitas sympathiques, l'une avec cuisinette qui ne manque de rien (même les Tupperwares y sont!) et l'autre en unité standard tout aussi ouverte et confortable. Mention spéciale étoilée aux matelas. Pour les amants de la nature et du simple, pour qui l'écologie compte (eau (et piscine) de source pluviale et électricité à ménager - paradoxe avec ces milliers de km par avion engloutis...!) et qui aiment les lieux aux charmes surannés mais néanmoins accueillants.
We had a fantastic stay at El Momo. The accommodations were as described and the hosts were helpful, friendly, and gave recommendations when asked. Highly recommend this place!
Andries est un hôte extrêment à l écoute de ses clients et gentil. De très bons conseils pour visiter Saba. Ses cottages rustiques donnent sur une sublime vue, perchés en hauteur. La piscine est très agréable surtout après une randonnée. Une belle escapade !
Andries is een prettige opgewekte man die helder communiceert. Het appartement was schoon en erg leuk. Je hebt een prachtig uitzicht.
Absolutely loved it here. Quiet and peaceful on the hillside with an amazing sunset view. Nice pool to cool off in after a day of exploring. Short walk down to town for markets and restaurants, and walkable back if you’re not opposed to some uphill (which wasn’t as bad as it initially appeared.) Otherwise, it’s easy to grab taxis around the island, and Andries was very helpful in calling them when needed… as well as being friendly and accommodating in every way possible. Once again, I loved staying here, and I highly recommend.

El Momo is located on quiet Booby Hill which is a 5 minute walk away from the tiny village of Windwardside where you can find the post office, bank, souvenir shops, Internet cafe, grocery stores, dive shops, museum, art gallery, trail shop, tourist office and some great restaurants. Jobean’s Glass Art Studio is just below El Momo, so not even a minute away.
Saba is a small place, you can walk to most places. There's no public transport but hitch hiking is a very accepted way of getting around here. We can refer you to a car rental company if you would want that. We will reserve a taxi to have you picked up from the airport or harbour.
