Good communication, great location after a hike. The common spaces (Cook, restroom, shower) are reallly cosy with board games, Books and so on. A real pleasure.

Star Bunkhouse is a great hostel in an old inn, with bags of character, well managed and equipped. Tricky to turn into from main road so you must be ready for the sharp left (or right) as soon as you see the building with it's sign. The postcode is accurate. When leaving the hostel you have to watch for two almost blind bends simultaneously but it's doable. Emma was very helpful including ref feather allergy. Kitchen is amazingly well equipped with space for several cooks at a time. Bedrooms are all upstairs at car park level with all other facilities at the lower street level. Lounge/dining area would be ideal for a group, though I travelled alone on this occasion and felt right at home next to the woodburner. Drying room is compact but does what it says on the tin.

Really lovely place to stay, with our 2 children and dog. Emma was super helpful and was excellent in communicating. The room was exactly as expected with everything we needed for the night. On arrival Emma gave us a guided tour of the place and made sure we had everything we needed and knew where everythingwas. We went across the road to the New Inn and had some food the evening we arrived and in the morning had a lovely walk up to Buckland Hill. Would definitely recommend Emma's place to anyone and we will be back again in the future.

This is a super example of a bunkhouse! It has a really homely feel, is clean, warm and has everything you need to spend time outdoors as well as enjoying some peace and rest. It is really well situated for walking, MTBing and visiting some of the major attractions in the area. Emma is a lovely host and I look forward to visiting again soon!

Emma is a very welcoming host and made sure me and my son were comfortable and familiar with the accomodation upon arrival. My son loved staying here with all the board games on offer and books to read, making it a perfect place to wind down after a long day out hiking in the nearby beauty spots 👌 The facilities on offer were beyond what I expected and im so glad I booked to stay here 🙂
