自我介绍

My husband, our daughter and I are all originally from England but have been living in West Texas for many years. We live on a small farm with our 10 dogs and 3 horses. We love Lubbock and the people even more. We have traveled around the world and lived in Australia, Italy, England, India and Thailand. I homeschooled our daughter through sophomore while we travelled. She is now an A&M graduate and going to grad school. We have remodeled a 300 year old Quakers Meeting Place in England and an even older Italian villa in Monte di Procida, near the Amalfi coast. We have remodeled quite a number of houses in Lubbock but our preferences are always older houses who like to tell their stories and come to life again. I fell in love with the Holly House the first time I saw her and knew she would be the perfect B&B. I was right. She loves it. If only her lovely old trees could speak because I am sure they would have a few tales to tell. I then fell in love with Fig Tree Cottage. She’s on the same block and street. It’s very interesting to me how houses and their surroundings can speak to you. They are a little like our rescue dogs - dying to be loved on and given a new lease on life. Begging to be rescued from years of neglect. So, we give them the opportunity to shine again and sing to their hearts’ content. We love where we live right now - on the plains of West Texas. We plant trees and flowers and listen to the birdsong and watch bluebonnets popping up their pretty little heads in the early Spring. There is nothing quite like a West Texas sunrise and sunset or the wide open spaces where Canadian geese rest or cattle and horses graze. I love it! I can see exactly why the early pioneers settled here and made this resting place their home all those years ago.
