First thing in the morning of our due arrival date, I received a phone call advising the place could not be used due to a boiler failure. We then had to find an alternative first night, but they were able to replace the boiler that day and in the end let us still stay the planned 3 days from the following day instead. So, this was good and very worthwhile to us, as the cottage was exactly as we all wanted in a great, very isolated and dark location, perfect for what we all wanted, with own parking in what is otherwise a very popular location for many of the starting points of the Lakes most popular and best walks. The only down side was the kitchen bin had not been emptied, the dishwasher full of dirty pots, some old clothes left behind and the kitchen not fully cleaned - all of which we assume was due to the boiler issue and the booking initial being cancelled. Other than this it was a great place to stay.

The cottage was in perfect spot , for hikes, swimming, getting into Ambleside and Grassmere We will be looking to stay again

My partner and I couldn't have asked for a better location than to spend our holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was set back in a lovely, quiet location, which was what we had wanted and perfectly situated between locations such as Ambleside and Keswick from which to explore and hike etc. The Cottage was clean and tidy and spacious and had all utilities in good working order if so required. If there was any downside to this holiday, it was only that we struggled to find the cottage's location as it is set back from the main road and hidden on all sides by trees, so there was a little mini panic at the outset of trying to find it! Once located however, we had a lovely, enjoyable stay.

Great place in the heart of the Lakes, really good base for walking and sightseeing.
