Lido is a little island on the Venetian lagoon that someone defined “..the perfect place for a getaway, the quiet island features a white sand beach, dozens of delicious restaurants and cafes, cute stores and a laid-back yet classy vibe.” Tamara Elliot from Globe Guide.
Sheltering the city from the sea, Lido offers spectacular views on Venice. It’s undoubtedly most known for hosting Venice Film Festival, but it’s usually avoided by the mass of tourists coming to visit its famous neighbor. However, the trendier area of the Venice lagoon, known for its Art Deco architecture and sport resorts, has a lot to offer.
The house is on the main street of Lido, called Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta. Commonly called Gran Viale, the street crosses the whole island. Gran Viale finishes at the seaside, where you can follow the sea promenade north to the public beach or south to Alberoni Oasis, following the Murazzi path. The Murazzi are a protective barrier made of Istrian stone, which shield the island from water erosion.

The Lido is easy to reach. All the boats stop at the Lido S.M.E. station at the foot of the Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta, within easy walking distance of the house, 400 meters along a wide sidewalk. From the Lido S.M.E. waterbus station, you can catch a number of different boats to Venice's main attractions. It takes you only 5 minutes to get to the Biennale - Giardini and a maximum of 15 minutes to San Marco.
