The cottage is part of an ancestral house overlooking the lake. We, your hosts, Hari and Kumkum, hail from Kumaon. The LakeView Cottage is an ideal place for writing a book, painting the ever changing shades of the lake, perfecting your photography, lounging around or maybe get your heart pumping by a run! This is modern private space with 2 large bedrooms with wooden finish; both rooms have attached bathroom with western toilet ; extra bedding, a small library, and lockable storage containers for luggage. Both room have wooden finish and have a loft with sleeping arrangement for 1 person. Perfect hang out for kids and young at heart. There is a large living room with open modern kitchen, sofa set, dining table, book racks etc. The apartment is on 1st floor. On the ground floor there are orchards and gardens. Surrounded by mango, leetchi, walnut, guava, and plum trees - the cottage is a favourite haunt of myriad birds. Wake up each morning to spy the red billed Blue Magpie, the purple Sunbird or the great tit as you sip your morning tea. Sit under the leetchi tree and read, count the boats on the lake or simply watch the clouds roll by. The kids can read books from the library or potter about the land and try their hand at digging out onions or cutting salad leaves for dinner.

This was one of our best AirBnB experiences! The location is perfect with the lake right in front of the cottage. The house itself is very cosy and tastefully done up. They have a microwave and fridge so you can be fairly independent as well. The area is comfortable for a family or close friends traveling together. Kumkum Ma'am and Hari Sir are absolutely the best hosts. They are very warm and caring and go out of their way to help you. They have the most interesting stories that keep you entertained. We had a personal emergency and Hari Sir ensured we got all the help we could get. He spoke to his family and with his vast local network, we were able to solve the problem very easily. We were so grateful for his help and guidance. The caretaker Nandanji and his family are very helpful and take care of every need. The food he makes is very delicious and you can ask him to make as per your tastes and preferences. We traveled with a toddler and a dog and all of us had a wonderful time. We can safely say that we will be staying with them every time we head for a vacation in that area!

the place is amazing, just as has been described in the listing. both hari n Kumkum are super warm. the food cooked by the in house cook was delicious too. strongly recommend for people to stay here when in bhimtal.
A very nice and cozy place with ample natural light. Special shout for the host Hari Ji and kumkum Ji for being proactive and offering her help. They treated us like a family. and now I found a family like people far from my home. Talking about the stay it is the perfect place to relax in winter afternoons. Highly recommended.Much more than comfortable and expectation. Blindly go for it, pics over here won't do justice. This place is beautiful loaded with lots of greenery. Nights are super cozy too due to wooden walls, floor, and electrically heated blankets.
How would you feel when you aim for the sky and land up on the moon? That feeling sums up our stay with Brigadier Sahab & Kumkum Madam's heavenly abode. We never felt away from home, and at the same time we were pampered with professional hospitality. The property is perched at the best possible location by the lake and the view from the sit out area is simply breathtaking. We opted for food cooked and served by the inhale caretaker - Nandan - and that was a decision we did not regret. He served us whatever we craved for. The hosts are amazing people. Always there for any thing you need yet completely non interfering. "Super Hosts" is an understatement for their level of hospitality. Thank you Sir & Madam for making our stay special and making us feel a part of family.

Bhimtal has several adventure sports, such as, swimming, boat rides, kayaks, hot sir baloon, zombing, zip line etc. Close by there is a butterfly museum, aquarium, folk-art painting museum by an eminent Padam-Shree artist. There are unique experiences too, such as, water mill, city walk with locals etc. An ideal place for writing a book, painting the ever changing shades of the lake, perfecting your photography skills, lounging around or maybe getting your heart pumping by running around the lake! Whatever your reasons, the Lakeside Homestay is a perfect place! :)
