As soon as we arrived at the boathouse we knew we should have booked a longer stay. It's absolutely idyllic, right on the shores of Loch Lomond with a beautifully landscaped and secure garden that feels very private, and a cosy interior with plenty of areas to sit and relax. The bed is extremely comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. Our dog loved exploring the gardens and fishing for rocks in the lake, and we loved watching the sunset and reading in the hammock chairs. We would come back here in a heartbeat, next time hopefully for more than two nights!

View is wonderful and cottage was clean. Cottage is quaint, but not at level commensurate with location. The stone is beautiful, but the cottage is cold. Couldn’t find heating controls (other than underfloor) and while there was a wood stove, only a few pieces of cut wood would fit. The axe was dull as a ball. In packet, suggestion is to visit local store for wood, but wasn’t able to locate any. I did grab 2 pieces of cut wood from “authorized personnel only” area to make do for evening- only to notice later that there was now a lock/chain on area. Didn’t mean to cause issue - and ended up not using the logs - but didn’t like the feeling of being spied upon. While didn’t come across any issues indoor, you can hear the scurrying of critters outside the cottage. The cars and hikers were also quite loud at times while passing. Checked out a day early due to travel change, but by then, the little bit of charm had faded. Notified owners of early departure - never heard back.

Although we were only here for 2 nights, we could have stayed much longer purely for the peace and tranquility the accommodation and surroundings brought us. Secluded and completely private, with a gorgeous wood burning stove and fully equipped kitchen, we really didn't need to bring anything other than ourselves and our dogs for a break from normal life. The gardens are spectacular and clearly have had some time and effort spent on them. The whole place is beautiful and it was an absolute pleasure to have stayed here. Thanks Stewart!

Charming ,beautiful stonebuild building with great lochside views .Easy access to loch if you fancy a dip or paddle board etc. The bed was amazing .So overall was great there was a few annoying things .I feel there was the bare minimum with few things which for the price i did not expect i.e 2 toilet rolls 2 squares of firelighter There was some logs for fire but too big to go in and axe was blunt.Thank goddness my husband is good at fire or we would be cold.You cant have under floor heating on and have hot water so we went with hot water but still wasnt that warm.We also couldnt get the freeview box to work which wasnt that bad as wasnt there to watch tv . That sounds like alot of negative but it really wasnt. This a lovely place for a few nights away.
