A very peaceful, beautiful, clean and safe place to be at. Can be considered as one of the best stays at East Khasi hills. Staff is very polite and helpful. Great food and awesome environment. Just found this to be a bit over priced. In case you are okay with the price then just go for it. Will rate it a 5 in safety, beauty and cleanliness.

A beautifully appointed place, with a killer view and plenty of space to walk around and explore. The caretaker, Irene, was extremely helpful and on top of everything. From the yummy dinner she organised to her willingness to chat with us and tell us about the area, etc., Irene really made our stay wonderful. The only slight drawback was the electricity issues while we were there, but given the rains had just set in, I guess that is to be expected. Overall I would highly recommend Hesed House to anyone staying in the Cherrapunji area!!

Hessed House is a big DISAPPOINTMENT! Dont get lured by the pictures as the host has very cleverly put the pictures of all the rooms for this Room no 1. This house has been built on a cliff and this room is on ground floor just at the entry with view of the car park but the pictures displayed for this listing are of other rooms which are downstairs. They have smartly hidden this thing in the listing. The property is aesthetically built but our experience was ruined due to a big group who had booked other three rooms and were exploiting the common area to their best. They had made the kitchen, dining hall and common room so dirty that we couldnt even think of sitting somewhere. I have clicked all the pictures and upload it to Gmaps. They were partying, playing loud music, and shouting loudly till 4AM and we couldn't sleep. There are no rules about usage of common areas or playing loud music and noone even to attend you at night. I messaged Atanu in the night but he didnt repsond to any of my msgs till date and number provided in airbnb for the host is incorrect and always unavailable. The caretaker Poinisuk is sweet and humble but he went away during breakfast time and we wasted one hour looking for him instead of him coming and asking us for breakfast. For this also I messaged Atanu multiple times but no response. Other reviews also state this thing that host is unresponsive. The room is also poorly mantained with a big leakage in shower mixer through which all the hot water flows out and what you get is cold water to bathe in, the geyser is noisy and bedside charging socket was not at all working. Plus the neighbouring kitchen of Saimika is having dogs in the cooking area which is gross and against food safety ethics. Better look for better properties near NIT in the same price and dont waste your money on Hessed House or SaiMika.

We were thoroughly dissatisfied with the service in this home. It took us 30 minutes or so to locate the house. There are no clear instructions provided on how to get into the house and there are really bad roads leading to the house - would not recommend checking in very late in the night. There were multiple power cuts through the night as we checked in. The pictures are quite deceiving as the rooms don’t do justice to the badly maintained Airbnb house it is. I hope this review enables the owner to setup better driving directions and cleanliness standards for the Airbnb guests.
