Rosemary & her parents were very nice. The place was relaxing, private & spacious, I immediately felt very comfortable there. There were some items that needed to be addressed on check in that should've been caught by most cleaning crews but a temp crew was used so the items were'nt caught: (dirty items, missing amenities, damaged cookware & some basic amenities that were'nt replenished). Rosemary & her father took care of these things pretty quickly. The plan was to stay for a few weeks to see if I liked it then extend until I found a home to purchase. Unfortunately there was a mechanical issue with the hot water heater & after 4 days of no hot water the stay was cancelled & appropriate fees refunded. This was the only time that immediate action was necessary but it took them 6 hours after my 10am notification to make a repair call, by that time it was too late for any tech to do anything that day. Had the response been rapid this review might be 5 Star & no mention of any issues.

PERFECT! Private, clean, quiet, with every single amenity one needs for an extended stay let alone an overnight one. Rosemary really thought of everything that one might need from the boardgames to a mortar and pestle! (the full and extensive kitchen amenities will be particularly appreciated by those who prepare their own meals). Rosemary even went way above and beyond by purchasing a food processor when she found out I'm a vegetarian. The place itself is spotless and has that great clean feeling that, as you can see from the pictures, is a contemporary style so you feel like the place is a second home for you that you can just relax into, instead of some airbnb's that feel like you are staying in someone's else's space. There's a private outdoor patio area with a grill as well as an additional sitting area in the back that was a great surprise as there are not pictures of this spot and the landscaping around the guesthouse is just gorgeous. The fence surrounding the guesthouse really does make it feel like the space is yours - loved loved loved that aspect. And because the guesthouse is located in a wooded area, it stays cool even during the hottest part of the summer. I rarely even felt a need to turn on the AC (and for the few times that I did however, the AC feels incredible!!!!). The guesthouse is located literally right around the corner from a fantastic (and largely flat) walking/running path that runs parallel to a canal and where you can expect some beautiful views along this well constructed forest path. Communication was excellent. Responsive, thoughtful, and accommodating. I've stayed in many airbnbs (I travel a lot for work) and this is hands down, no competition, my favorite. Stellar stay. If you are able to book this place, lucky you.

A cozy outdoor hideaway! My wife, toddler and I were incredibly lucky to be able to book an extended stay at the property while we were in-between homes. Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood, behind the main house on the property, the environment created is a wonderfully serene sanctuary. With a privacy fence and hardscape welcoming you into the space, a beautiful garden wrapping around the home, and backing up to a wildlife & bird reserve - it couldn’t be more tranquil. In the mornings you are woken by bird song, a great way to start the day while enjoying a nice cup of coffee on the back yard bench or the patio. The home itself is super cozy and cute but quite functional with all the right touches. Our nearly two year old loved staying in her own room and using the twin bed and dresser! Being only a ~7 minute drive from downtown Nevada City, and with a great waterway walking trail footsteps from the home, adventure abounds. Additional touches like blazing fast gigabit internet, dimmers on all lights, heater/AC in each room, onsite washer and dryer, and a polished concrete floor keeping the space cool all add to the livability factor. Rosemary the owner and her onsite support Mimi, were so helpful and outgoing when we had questions. A wonderful experience from beginning to end! Highly recommended for visitors looking for a serene and cozy gateway to the Sierras!
