Sheila is a wonderful host and the pub/inn were a perfect place for an overnight stay on our way from London to Wales. She welcomed us like a relative would welcome family for a stay. We enjoyed a tasty dinner in the pub when we arrived and also had a lovely breakfast in the morning before departing on our journey through Wales. If you enjoy the path less traveled and like a more rural experience with country hospitality, The Crown in Longtown is a rustic, warm, and welcoming stop. There are walking paths and sights to see in the beautiful surrounding area and Sheila and her husband can give you tips on what’s nearby. Sheila is a wonderful cook and you won’t be disappointed with the pub fare.

we stayed as 2 couples for a night after a wedding. check in was easy and had good communication with Sheila before the stay. We were not in the flat for long but it had everything we needed for the night. the flat is all one room which is worth bearing in mind if more than one party are staying and don't want to share the same space

My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Crown Inn after a day hiking in the Black Mountains. The Crown Inn is perfectly situated for a day hike from Abergavenny. We stayed in the flat at the top of the Inn, which was extremely comfortable with plenty of room. Dinner in the pub downstairs was fantastic, with a great selection of local ales and an excellent countryside pub atmosphere for a Saturday evening. Breakfast in the morning was substantial and very reasonably priced, perfect for another day exploring the area. Sheila was an excellent host and everyone working in the pub was extremely helpful and accommodating. We hope to return very soon.

Excellent location friendly pub. The loft room worked well for three retired cyclists.

Warm welcome in an out of the way pub. The accommodation is not palatial and it’s a bit dark but this is a good stop over for a short walking break.
