Llanveynoe, Longtown · 整套民居 · 3室0床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · Secluded Mountain Retreat
This is the ultimate retreat, a spacious rustic cottage on the side of the mountain range that runs from Hay-on-Wye to Abergavenny, with the Offa's Dyke Path along the ridge. Freedom to play, explore and unwind, with open spaces all around and the most incredible views. You can walk for miles here without going near a road, or hop in your car to explore the Welsh borders region. The nearby village of Longtown has an excellent shop and a castle, and there are really great pubs for food nearby.
Great place to stay. Excellent location, remote, great views with good hiking on the doorstep and access to places like Hay-on-Wye by car. Even saw the Northern lights
Dan and Hannah’s bolthole in the hills is a very special place - rustic but homely and very cosy, with the most fantastic view. The Rayburn and log burner kept us very warm and the walks you can do straight from the house are spectacular. We loved playing quoits in the Cornewall arms and watching the sheep in the morning potter around the house. The walk from the car park is slightly soggy but very manageable and we managed it fine with a heavy toddler on our back! Will certainly be coming back. Thank you Dan and Hannah for a very memorable stay
Amazing rural and peaceful cottage ! So serene, highly recommend. Dan was really helpful and very responsive. I would recommend wearing sensible shoes / wellies up to the house as it can be muddy and you have to cross a small stream!
The most beautiful place - stunning morning views and completely remote. An amazing place to stay with friends - walking, eating, relaxing. We were greeted by Dan's mum who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The fire was stocked with logs for the weekend. Welsh cakes and wine on arrival - incredible. We loved our stay.
What a lovely place! Admittedly we were blessed with lovely weather, but even if it poured we would've had a wonderful time here. The house is very well equipped and thoughtfully setup, but it's the location that is so special. We hiked, had fires and were completely at peace. Will be coming back for sure. Dan was a great host and all went very smoothly. A real gem.
You really will be private here, and perhaps have to be something of an intrepid explorer to appreciate the location. The house is located on the side of the Hatterall mountain, fenced within nine acres of hilly ground with trees and a stream that is yours to explore during your stay. The views are incredible, from every part of the property.
Longtown is the nearest village, with an excellent well-stocked independent shop, a good local's pub, and a castle.
You can walk from the house onto the Black Mountains with the Offa's Dyke path, and the most incredible hiking, biking and riding. Canoeing on the River Wye is a popular activity.
It's 13 miles to the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye, with Hay Festival being a particular highlight but worth a visit at any time of the year.
16 miles to Abergavenny or 21 miles to Hereford for the nearest train stations and 'big shops', and 60 miles to Bristol (less than two hours drive).
While you can walk in from the Offa's Dyke Path, most guests choose to arrive by car.
There is a car park approximately 200m from the house and access is on foot. The path can be muddy and is steep in places. It can be driven but we only do it in a Land Rover and we will not be held responsible or organise a rescue if you get stuck!
