The Hay Barn at Lower Wernduu has plenty of space inside and out for entertaining and relaxing for all your guests. Enjoy cooking your homemade pizza's in our pizza oven and sitting around the firepit toasting marshmallows late in to the evening or cosy up in the beautifully restored barn which has a large welcoming fully equipped kitchen and cosy sitting room with log burner, for the colder days and an open plan sleeping area on the mezzanine level. The Hay Barn is our unique, rustic, basic, down to earth place, in the grounds of Lower Wernduu Farm and home of our charity Jamie's Farm. It is light, airy and completely open plan which lends itself to being a fantastic entertaining-dining-cooking area for all 6 guests. The kitchen has a double oven, induction hob, 2 dishwashers and a large fridge. There is a large assortment of different cutlery, pots and pans and an eclectic mix of plates and bowls for you to use and plenty of space to cook all your meals. In the sitting area, there are 2 double sofas and single arm chair for all your guests to relax and unwind in front of the wood burning stove. There is one modern shower room downstairs off the sitting area. Upstairs on the mezzanine level, there are 6 single beds in an open plan sleeping arrangement. The Hay Barn also has the use of our lovely outside fire pit, brick built wood fired pizza oven and undercover seating area which is for your sole use. The Hay Barn is part of the Jamie's Farm charity. Jamie’s Farm supports vulnerable young people nationwide to thrive academically, socially and emotionally through a unique residential programme hosted on this farm Monday to Friday. The programme is a blend of ‘Farming, Family, Therapy and Legacy’ where children take on real jobs with purpose punctuated with therapeutic support. During the week, The Hay Barn is the main living/eating and entertaining space for the children so during the weekends we offer our space to others, to raise much needed funds for the charity.

Amazing place for big groups. We were a large group of friends meeting up for 3 nights and it was perfect for that. Everything wee needed and lots to do on site

Really enjoyed my stay here. The building is full of character and story which just adds so much to the experience. The huge kitchen was a great hub for socialising and playing games and had everything you’d need to feel at home. The hosts were responsive at all times of day and were very helpful. I’d recommend to stay here in a heartbeat!

The farm is two miles from Longtown. There is a a village store and post office ( Hopes of Longtown HR2 0LT ), please check their website for opening hours and a pub, The Crown Inn. (HR2 0LT), please check their website for opening times and restaurant opening times.
Three miles in the other direction is Ewyas Harold which has a village store and post office, 2 thriving pubs and fish and chip takeaway.
The Old Stables Fish and Chip Shop (HR2 0EX), is well frequented by locals and visitors.
The Dog Inn ( HR2 0EX), please check their website for restaurant and bar opening times or The Temple Bar (HR2 0EU) serves food, please check their website for further details.

Sainsburys, Tesco's and Waitrose will delivery to the farm but please ensure it arrives after check in.
Rowlestone Court farm ice-cream (HR20DW) is about a 10 minute drive from the farm. They have a lovely ice-cream parlour, a play park and a wonderful woodland walk with zip wire and climbing tower, ideal for all ages.
Grosmont castle (NP78EP) is a must see! Entry is free and it is a really lovely castle to explore, just five minutes from Ewyas Harold.
If the weather is wet and you have children with you, then there is an indoor soft play in Abergavenny called Kingdom Come. About 20-25 minutes from the farm.
Beautiful town of Hay on Wye is just a 35-40 minute drive away
A great local walk ( 10minute drive from the farm ) is Cats Back circular 8.9mile walk - Black mountains
Sugar loaf mountain walk is near Abergavenny. ( 45 minute drive away)
