米尔谷 · 整套乡村小屋 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · New Beautiful Cottage | Downtown Mill Valley
Excited to reintroduce our charming cottage to the Airbnb community after several months of our family’s use. The absolutely charming cottage, nestled in bucolic Mill Valley, is equal parts secluded and convenient, walking distance to shops and restaurants, hiking and mountain biking trails, and the Dipsea Steps. One of a pair of cottages perfectly situated to enjoy charming Mill Valley, Mt. Tam, Muir Woods, and Stinson Beach, as well as easy access to San Francisco and the Wine Country. This charming garden cottage is a free-standing house in an oasis-like setting with full privacy. The location is a walker's paradise adjacent to downtown Mill Valley and nearby shops, parks, restaurants, and movie theater. From the nightly rate, the host will pay the Mill Valley transient occupancy tax and the Marin County tourism fee at no additional cost to the guest.
Heidi’s place is a cute, impeccably clean, and convenient spot for a visit to Mill Valley. The living space (sitting/dining/kitchenette) is quite small but there’s outdoor seating as well and so much to do in and around Mill Valley. Quick walk to center of town. Communication with Heidi when I had questions was terrific.
Beautiful place, awesome location, and very responsive and helpful host! Unfortunately I was there for one of the few hot weeks each year, but the cottage is just not set up to accommodate that. There isn’t AC which I knew when booking, but only a couple of windows (away from the bedroom) have screens on them so I couldn’t open windows at night to get cross ventilation which made it hard to sleep. Any other time of year, I would absolutely stay here again but not in August.
I stayed here on a solo trip and it was exactly the respite I needed. The cottage is lovely, from the garden setting to the decor and the location is perfect for exploring the area, whether it’s San Francisco, Muir Woods or Point Reyes. Highly recommend.
Nestled below majestic Mount Tamalpais, Mill Valley is reminiscent of a charming European village. Surrounded by national parks, including Muir Woods, an ancient coast redwood forest, Mill Valley’s lush landscape of hills and canyons is a favorite place for visitors who enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and running. And don’t miss the delightful downtown area near Lytton Square, where people gather for coffee at Equator Coffee or for a game of chess. The Depot downtown is also a jumping-off spot for hikers and mountain bikers heading up the slopes of Mt. Tamalpais. Nightlife in Mill Valley is anchored by the historic Sweetwater Music Hall which hosts many well-known musical acts. The newly renovated Mill Valley Lumber Yard is a century's old property that now serves as a community gathering place for shopping, dining, and local events. As you stroll up and down the quaint nearby streets, you’ll be tempted by an array of fashionable boutiques and restaurants.
The town has long been known as a cultural hub. The Mill Valley Film Festival is an internationally recognized festival that has attracted leading filmmakers and movie aficionados for the past forty-two years. The Mountain Play, produced in June in an outdoor amphitheater, attracts thousands of theater-goers to the top of Mount Tamalpais to watch Broadway musicals performed by talented local actors.
Outdoor and running enthusiasts should be sure to check out the legendary annual Dipsea Race, the second-oldest footrace in the United States. The race takes runners over a 7.1-mile course up and over Mount Tamalpais to one of the most beautiful California beaches on the Pacific Coast.
You can access public transportation within a short 5-10 minute walk to downtown Mill Valley. There is no parking provided for this cottage but neighborhood parking is generally easy to find.
