Our family of four visited in July and had a lovely stay in this property. What the house lacks in luxury, it more than makes up in location! Right on the lake, the house has a great deck and seating area to enjoy the gorgeous lake view. There’s a canoe and kayak (and life jackets) available, which were easy to get in and out of the lake. It’s a short drive to Northport and only 30 min. from Traverse City. The kitchen had everything we needed to make coffee, breakfast, etc. We ended up eating out for most meals. The beds were very comfortable. The two bathrooms (one on the main floor and one upstairs) are small. This isn’t a spacious house, but it worked well for our family of four. The spiral staircases are steep as you would expect, so if someone has trouble with stairs, they’d need to stay on the main floor. Because we were visiting in the summer, we enjoyed using the screened doors/windows and the fans for airflow and were always very comfortable day and night.

If you’re looking to relive that perfect childhood memory of a northern Michigan family vacation in the cabin on the lake, then this is it. It has that older cabin on the lake feel, the welcoming casualness, but it was also very clean, which was appreciated. Cynthia was also very responsive. We had a small power outage one day (the whole street did). It was quickly restored, but I notified Cynthia of it and she kept us posted with the restoration ETA from the energy company. We honestly never even turned on a single TV in the house the whole time as we just enjoyed each other’s company, the view, and relaxing at the cabin aside from going out and enjoying the surrounding area. The location is great for enjoying the whole peninsula. It blends the feeling of not being too far away (Omena and Northport are close, Leland 20 min, TC 30 min), while also being far enough away that you get to simultaneously, delightfully escape it all.

Perfect place for our group of 7. Cynthia was extremely responsive to questions and had answers and solutions in record time. Will definitely stay here again when we return.
