Thank you Darren for sharing your wonderful apartment with us. The apartment was totally as described and the photos do not do it justice.We have had a fab week in Burgu and the surrounding area. We will not hesitate to book the apartment again. Wish there were more than 5 stars.

Darren’s place is beautiful and spotless. The area has great restaurants and groceries right nearby. Ferry and bus are easy access to Valletta. Thanks Darren for being so responsive!

We had a wonderful stay at Darren’s place. The house was in a residential area walking distance to waterfront, shops, restaurants and the ferry/water taxi to Valletta. Bus stops nearby as well. Darren was very helpful with info ahead of our arrival and was always available to answer any questions. The historical center is a gem and it is a peaceful location. The house itself was modern and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again in a future visit.

The place is lovely! Very clean and spacious and has everything you may need for a comfortable stay! As some of the other reviews mentioned the only downside is the noise… Every morning around 6-6.30 cars and trucks start racing by sounding their horns. And because it’s a main door ground floor property the noise is really close. Even though I always use earplugs I would wake up with a jump every morning. We were at the apartment at low season in winter so I assume it only gets busier in the summer. Otherwise everything was absolutely perfect. Great location and a great host! So if you’re an early riser anyway book this up without a doubt!

Darren is one of the best Airbnb hosts I have ever met, and his place was perfect for us. It was in a great location - so peaceful, super quiet at night, and an easy walk to the local plaza or down to the water with multiple restaurants. We felt like we were staying in a very authentic Maltese neighborhood. The place was very clean, and the furniture was very comfortable, both the bed and the couch. Darren had many helpful suggestions for places to visit and restaurants. He stopped by to say hello when we arrived and to make sure all was well, then again to say goodbye. He made our stay extra special. Extra bonuses to the neighborhood: the bread truck that stops by around 8:15 every morning with fresh bread. Why stay in crowded Valletta when you can stay in peaceful Birgu and take the water taxi across in 10 minutes? We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.
