This unique house offers a pleasant compromise between history (it was a watchtower in the Middle Ages), the all-comfort of our time, the layout and the quality of the materials chosen for its restoration by an architect. It is located in a small quiet hamlet in the "Pays des Bastides", in Perigord, without direct vicinity. It offers many outdoor areas, including a large garden and a terrace under vegetable roof. It is the ideal place to cool down and navigate what the area has to offer. The house offers a large living area with on the ground floor with a sitting area, a fully equipped kitchen area and a large dining table. For sleeping, you will have the choice between a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet on the ground floor, a single bedroom with en-suite bathroom on the first floor and a mezzanine on which I have put a single bed that will serve either as a sofa or bed. Upstairs, a large terrace under a vegetal roof allows to enjoy the shade all day long (and the sunset). It is equipped with a large table. On the ground floor, depending on the time of day, you will choose to be either in the patio or on the beautiful terrace in front of the house.

Magnifique maison en pleine nature, originale, très calme avec un ciel qui s'offre à 360°. Sophie s'est montrée une hôte accueillante, prévenante, toujours disponible, très réactive et prête à nous rendre service. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille.

Sophie was very welcoming & attentive. This place is just spectacular. The Solitude of the french countryside wrapped up in an old property with a modern twist. Its a great base for anyone wishing to visit the many bastides, wonderful hamlets & breathtakingly towns all within a short drive. I cant recommend Sophie & her property enough. If you're in two minds... book it!!

Sophie has been a great host. Very welcoming, proactively helpful and 1st class responsive. The house is an historic building renovated with a lot of attention to detail and with a very smooth combination of old new features. The house is located on the country side and the surrounding is very calm. If you look for a peaceful place to relax and chill out we can only recommend the place. A big thank you Sophie for having us.

The house is part of a small hamlet of 11 houses distanced from each other, some of which are also available for seasonal rental and including an organic farm. The setting is very preserved and has been tastefully renovated. The hamlet includes an outdoor oven (shared by the hamlet in the past) and a medieval washing place (small walk of 15-20 minutes down the hill). Besides these two landmarks, we also have: a Roman route, a water conduit (we think Roman), "cluzeaux" (shelters dating from the medieval period), a climbing rock and the starting point of one of the most beautiful walks in the region.
