amy's place is amazing. you go down a 1.5 mile private road through the forest to arrive at this beautiful secluded house by a lake , overlooking another lake and the mountains. the interior was beautiful, wood cabin feel with nice Persian like carpets. 2 living rooms with a view of the lake and mountains. there's been a real attention to detail. the beds were comfy, really a great experience. note that there are 2 bedrooms on the first floor and 2 beds up a ladder in a little mezzanine, not a problem for us but you have to feel comfortable going up a ladder. Amy left us some delicious donuts and maple syrup, very generous.

Our family (four people and a dog) had a great stay here. We had bad luck with the weather and were rained out of some of our planned activities, so we spent a lot of time at the house. It was a lovely, peaceful place from which to watch the approaching storm clouds. The dog (and the rest of us) enjoyed walking around the property, and the kids had a lot of fun hunting for frogs and newts in the pond. We always joke about the poor quality of knives in vacation rentals, but this house even has great knives. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and they have a really sweet, friendly dog. And the stars (when it's not cloudy) are spectacular!

Amy and Steve were so welcoming and responsive with a perfect balance of being available while giving us privacy. The house was so comfortable, beautifully built and furnished, and immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped, and Amy even had breakfast basics and homemade brownies waiting for us. The setting and views were gorgeous. We were only there for a weekend, but we could have happily stayed for days, exploring and enjoying a peaceful, restorative retreat off the beaten path.
