We had issues due to prior guest and being booked without host inspection. Cheap supplies, garbage cans were full prior to arrival. Luckily, the neighbor allowed us to use his can until garbage day. The a/c was not cooling upon arrival. Host told me it was our fault for turning thermostat below 72 which are “House Rules” the tv downstairs resets every time the door closes and the interior upstairs lights started flickering our second evening then completely blacked out. Third day, end of day, finally had a/c and lights. Four family members left due to the uncomfortable temps. The day before checkout I asked Jessica if she would allow a late checkout due to the loss of quality vacation time and having to wait at house for the repair work and she gave an option of two hours. I tried to negotiate with her she became unprofessional and threatened to call cops. Told us to leave that night. We checked out on scheduled day promptly & resolved, received refund through AirBnB/Terrible host.

Nice place. Right on the river, decent peer, and a pool. Overall, I think the place was nice albeit a bit expensive for the size. I gave it a 4 for value since it did have an extra bedroom downstairs that helped save the knees of one of our party. Worth a bit extra to not have to climb stairs with a bad knee. There were some ants on the kitchen counters, we had to wipe them down with Clorox wipes to try and get rid of them. It worked to an extent, but we did have to deal with them. The rest of the home was clean and free of pests. The only other issue was the lack of toiletries. We had to go purchase additional, but stores are stores close by so no real issue outside of a minor inconvenience. Overall, the ants were the only real issue.

Jessica was very helpful with any questions I may have had. My sons caught lots of sand trout off the pier and enough crabs for dinner. The pool and porch swing were my two favorite spots!! I didn't clearly understand that there is one bathroom upstairs in the main house and the other bathroom is down stairs in the extra bedroom, but we made it work out. The house is nothing fancy or big but was comfortable enough for my family of 6. This is the perfect CHILL spot!!! There are a few little cafes nearby, a dollar store and a liquor store. HEB and Walmart are about 30 minutes away. We had a relaxing getaway and the perfect spot to make family memories and see beautiful sunsets!

Our family recreated our childhood spent in Sargent with our children. Fishing was good from the pier, our kids loved fishing at night. We enjoyed the pool and it really made the weekend for us adults.

We loved the pool, the fishing pier, crab traps and the short distance to the beach! We will be coming back!
