Nik was kind when we communicated with him and offered a full refund. The entrance to the third floor was on the side of the house. Half the walkway was lit while the other half was not by the door. The check in with the lock box was easy, but the steps are treacherous. There’s one set of narrow winding stairs up to the second floor and then another set of narrow winding stairs up to the third floor. It is very sparsely decorated. The living room couch was not the one in the photos, nor was the set up. There was a mirror and painting on the floor and the cable wires were disorganized and exposed along the floor. There were no hooks for jackets or bags. The bedroom had no door, and a very plain dresser. Not decorated, not cozy, not comfy. There was another door that led to another apartment on the other side of the bedroom that must have had a dog as we heard one barking and walking up to the door. It felt like a low budget frat house that is unloved and not attended to by its owner.

Nik was a wonderful host! The place was absolutely perfect for our stay, very clean, quiet, and close to the beach, shops and restaurants. It had everything we needed and more. Such a lovely area, we would definitely stay here again!

This rental was very clean, and had a nice comfortable bed. The location was perfect. Swampscott is beautiful and we felt very safe. Like other reviews said, there is no way to adjust the temperature and it is very cold. There was a small space heater but there was no door on the bedroom to trap the heat in, and no extra blankets. We also didn’t have any hand towels in the kitchen or bathroom, and no washcloths or extra towels. This place was very nice and served our purpose well, we just wish there were a few more amenities provided.

Nik was a fantastic host and the unit was perfect for us. Very easy check in and out process. Would highly recommend if you’re visiting Salem MA!
