Ulrike and Manfred’s place along the stunning coastline was an absolute treat. Meandering through the house and tiptoeing to your space, you are met with a carefully curated and charming space connected to nature. The house reveals thoughtful spaces and invites you to connect in a different way to the island. A large storm came in overnight, obscuring the views of the coast. But instead, I was treated to a concert of sounds and opted to stay up late to enjoy the sounds of rainfall. My only mistake is booking one night! Cheers

Beautiful place, spectacular views and a very nice breakfast. Ulrike and Manford made us feel at home and were very helpful with local activities.

Ulrike and Manfred are very gracious hosts. No detail is overlooked. The accommodations are beautiful and comfortable. The breakfasts were memorable. They took us to town several times and arranged a harbor tour and water taxi to Ulva island for trekking. Pizza night at Ulrike’s cafe was a big hit for the locals and not to be missed. We’ll definitely visit again our next trip to Stewart Island.

Loved the house along with all its creativity and art pieces. Handy to Acker's Point walk. Enjoyed Manfred's breakfast and kaka. Appreciated use of the car.

The experience of sharing a slice of Manfred and Ulrike’s Rakiaura heaven was sublime. They are simply the most welcoming couple with a wonderful property in an exceptional location - and with a friendly Kaka on hand for good measure! The views back over the Foveaux Strait are only matched by the most fulsome and fabulous breakfast, which Manfred conjures up. Jenson Bay House is almost at the start of Ackers Point Track, which teams with bird life and history - it is also about a 2km walk back in to Oban, but a car is often available if Manfred is not on hand to provide a lift. And if the wonderful beaches and wildlife are not enough, the family coffee shop (the Old Butchers) and network of tour providers make a stay with Manfred and Ulrike so enjoyable.
