Wonderful host and place what a little slice of paradise

This is an idyllic farm-based retreat, in an amazing setting. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but the roads are well-formed and it's certainly worth the trip. The house is clean, spacious, comfortable, warm, and well-equipped. There are lots of little touches to enhance your stay. We really appreciated that the fire had been lit and the welcome package of fresh eggs and home baking. Pip and her family are very friendly and hospital. Make sure you look out for the children's holiday shop, selling their own honey and walnuts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are definitely going there again.

We had a wonderful time at the River House, if you need some quality device-free time with family & friends, it is the place. It's location is secluded & serene, the house has ample rooms for our group of 7, the kitchen is well equipped, kids enjoyed the rumpus room, beds are comfy, it's just a perfect home away from home! Wish we could stay longer. Philippa & her girls were very kind to show and let us feed their pet deer Rudina, so adorable~

Home away from home! An absolute gem of a place to stay! Pip, Hamish & their two little girls(Isabelle & Molly) are the most gracious, kind, and lovely hosts. 9 of us stayed in this lovely farmhouse for 2days which is as good as an independent house with 5 bedrooms, a gaming room and a huge lounge area. There is a huge patio to sit and enjoy nature. We enjoyed chatting with them and Hamish shared his experiences about his farming life which is very interesting. Our kids enjoyed patting their pet animals with lovely Isabelle and Molly. The river 2mins walk from the house was a safe playground for our kids and enjoying the river and kayaking Make sure you book a farm tour which is highly recommended. Thank Hamish, Pip, Isabelle and Molly! for giving us a wonderful experience on your farm which we will remember and we will return soon! We had an A+ experience. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for some quiet, relaxing time surrounded by nature and a soft, kind human touch.
