Great location in the Sassi with a terrific view. Easy to walk to many attractions. Note that you have to climb around 4 sets of stairs (with luggage) to get from the main road to the apartment. Also, there are two steps to get to the bathroom and second bedroom once inside (not shown well from pictures.)

I loved all aspects of the property and the opportunity to experience cave living in Matera. It was private, cool, well located for great restaurants. Lovely to be able to use the property as our home for the time we were in Matera. We shopped the markets and prepared some of our own meals as well as enjoyed some amazing restaurants. My fault, I didn't check about having access to a washing machine. I assumed it to be available as we had the entire home. I would recommend staying here as Tina was very generous with items of food, she left for us to start our stay.

La maison de Tina est fabuleuse : une grotte authentique, spacieuse, parfaitement équipée et décorée avec goût, dotée d’une petite cour privée bien agréable, et d’un petit balcon où il est possible d’admirer une des plus belles vues de Matera, tout en étant à l’écart de l’agitation touristique, on se trouve pourtant bien dans le quartier des Sassi. La grande cour sur laquelle donne la maison est très peu fréquentée. À noter également l’accès relativement facile de la maison, ce qui est un plus quand on connaît les innombrables escaliers qui composent ce quartier ! Nous avons pu réserver un parking privé payant et indépendant, nous garantissant une place à notre arrivée, à quelques minutes de marche seulement de la maison, un privilège en plein mois d’août. Échanges, accueil et contact très agréables.

Tina was very timely and helpful in getting us to the dwelling. The apartment was tremendous. It was incredibly unique. There is a nice sense of cleanliness and freshness and style. Tina supplied a nice selection of foods for our needs, and the kitchen was well equipped. She also gave me useful suggestions for tours which helped us get to know the very special community of Matera. It was one of the best stays I have had.
