Spacious room, big bed, and super fun pool! We really enjoyed staying here and had no complaints other than finding the spot was very difficult. The original address we were given was incorrect and took us to the wrong homestay. We were eventually able to find the place with the help of our taxi driver who was very understanding. Upon arriving, the host met us at the bottom and brought us to the homestay which is placed at the top of a very narrow and steep driveway. Navigating the driveway was at times a hassle but it was worth it for the privacy it allowed. We felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves at times! Would definitely stay again.

Overall the place is nice but quite spartan. You need to weigh up whether you want to be in the centre with the hustle and bustle or somewhere a bit less convenient but quieter. It really depends on what you're doing and the kind of stay you want to have. Pros: - Friendly and quiet neighbourhood, close to Outpost, Ubud Yoga Centre (which is gorgeous!), and quite a few lovely local restaurants. Try Bunaken Bali for cheap and tasty lunch and D'Waroeng for amazing turmeric juice. Also close to the Monkey Forest. If I was living in Ubud, I'd happily live in this neighbourhood. For a short stay, I wanted something more central. - Quiet at night - Small but lovely pool and garden where you can do yoga, etc if you want - Kitchen is nice to have available, especially the large fridge - Filtered water available - Putu arranged laundry and an airport pick up which was really helpful. Erik, the taxi driver, was great. - The air conditioning works very well and fast. - Technically it's walking distance to town. I did it for a few days, however... Cons: - Walking to the centre takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on your route. If you go by the Monkey Forest it's a bit faster but I'm scared of monkeys so I went the other way. Neither way has sidewalks the whole way and both are quite winding, so you have to be really careful of traffic and it's definitely not ideal to walk at night. Much safer to get a taxi or a scooter if you're coming back after dark. - Down a lane set back from the road which can make it tricky to find. Highly recommend asking Putu to arrange an airport pick up. - No table/desk in the room to work from - only the kitchen table so be careful if you're a mosquito magnet - Depending on your room, you might only have 1 relatively uncomfortable chair outside which makes the little 'balcony' type space kind of pointless. Another room did have a table - Other places include breakfast for a similar price (but don't necessarily have kitchens) - Make sure you keep the stray cats out of your room. Some of them have fleas, as I found out the hard way... - The bathroom is quite damp and had a distinct smell. I'm allergic to mould so for me this was an issue. - If you're on the ground floor there will be some ants and if you want any privacy, you'll need to keep the curtain closed which makes it very dark in the room. - I think this is just a matter of tightening up the details, but the towels weren't changed during my stay of over a week and toilet paper wasn't refilled when the room was cleaned (which only happened once).

Very positive experience. The place is really nice, everything looks new, the room is very spacious and comfortable. Very good working a/c and fast wifi. The garden and common area are beautiful and well looked after, nice swimming pool too. Putu was very fast in answering my texts and providing what I needed, very kind and friendly people. Would definitely come back, great value for money!
