A good place to live for a few months if you are here on assignment or looking for permanent lodging. Quiet building, very professional. Free weekly linen and towel changes. On site manager. This is a sunny corner unit. utilities are included. Fully private room and entrance. Private bathroom. Kitchenette. Corner unit with fantastic views of the city and harbor. 12 foot ceilings, Very quiet building. Non smoking throughout, no smoking on the property at all. No parties. Fantastic decks and patios. Check out all our photos. Pay laundry down the hall. Free linen changes weekly and that includes towels.

Description is accurate. Right in landing flight path for airport, but I did not really notice after the first day. The onsite manager, Greg, was extremely helpful and easy to get in touch with if needed. For a long stay like mine (46 nights) it was a GREAT value compared to trying a local hotel for that long. And staying in a historic 123-year-old hotel was interesting in itself. I was in the Wyatt Earp Room (105). It was a nice set up for a long stay with a little 2 burner cooktop, microwave, frig and cookware. I was able to stay economical by making a lot of meals in the room instead of eating out. The location is close enough to walk to the Little Italy area for restaurants and some night life but would be an extreme uphill walk to get back! I would recommend the Historic Hawthorne Inn for an extended stay if luxury spa type amenities were not needed. If I am back in San Diego for another long trip, I would stay here again.
My Boyfriend and I stayed in Hawthorne Historic Inn for 2 months and it was absolutely amazing!! The location is perfect, less than a 10 minute walk to Little Italy and a 20 minute walk to Downtown. Pacific Beach & Ocean Beach aren’t walkable but only a 10/15 minute drive and Balboa park is only 5 minutes walk away. Honestly everything is so accessible 😍 There’s some lovely restaurants around the neighbourhood too. The room itself is perfect, fully equipped with everything you need and well laid out. It’s extremely comfortable for two people! All the balconies and the garden are communal but always clean and everyone is extremely respectful! I honestly could not recommend the place enough!! It’s a perfect place to explore and experience San Diego! Greg and Michelle are super helpful too, extremely responsive and always available for whatever you need.

Cool neighborhood, great views, called Bankers Hill, or Banker's Hill West. Originally called Florence Heights, This was one of the first settled in San Diego. We have photos in the hall showing what the area looked like in 1885.

I live in San Diego, and have worked near the Hawthorne Historic Inn for over 20 years. I know the area quite well and have many ideas about activities for you. I enjoy Balboa Park, special locales like the Spruce Street pedestrian bridge. The hotel has been a lot more work than expected but quite a lot of fun too.
