very nice, quiet neighborhood outside of town. A bit annoying if you want to spend a lot of time in the city, but perfect for us to chill out for a few days to start our honeymoon. I highly recommend going out to the Jorullo Bridge. Very cool, but a way harder hike than I thought lol 😂 if you enjoy some white noise while you sleep, you will love the sound of the river at night. no ATM or currency exchange in the area so make sure to have cash before heading out to this area. most places are cash only

Overall, based on the listing, the reviews, and the price this stay didn't match our expectations. The hosts Mario and Martha were indeed friendly and very helpful, and the river and the birds were lovely. However, we were expecting a secluded, peaceful getaway but instead it was quite noisy. I am not sure if the neighbours were especially loud or the bedroom wall was thin, but one night we could clearly hear from our bed the movie they were watching. Another night there was a loud party. During the day the street was busy with trucks, though with the windows closed to the street this was mostly muffled out. The reviews online looked wonderful, but did not capture e.g. a fairly strong smell, exposed electrical, and unclean floors in the bathroom (dark hairs and dust on the tiles and in the shower). Unfortunately there were some pieces of garbage in and near the river. Given the price we paid was close to that of a resort right on the ocean, these surprised us.
