When booking the property, the photos showed an empty seawall and small dock. There was a large old sailboat docked along seawall, and an email the day before check-in advised not to use the dock. It was in bad shape and unusable. That precluded using the canoe and kayaks. Canal fishing did not happen. Check in instructions gave wifi info. Was wrong and had to find the wifi equip to get correct info. Black mold is growing on pool and patio deck. The roof is leaking with every rain, so the floor stays wet. It is very slippery. Our 9 year old slipped and fell. The fix was to place chairs on all the mold spots. The grill was out of gas. Bought a tank at walmart. Found a spare the last day. Why not store the spare near the grill?

My family and I had a wonderful time at this house. the location was amazing right on the canal. lots of restaurants and bait shops close by, 10 minute drive to US19. The neighbors were friendly. The pool was great for the kids. Renting a pontoon boat is a must. We had an amazing day on gulf and saw dolphins, rays, and sea turtles. The house could use a few minor upgrades but overall it was comfortable, clean, and accommodating. Overall it is a great bargain for the rate they charge. Would recommend!

This was a fantastic home! Fishing on the dock out back was really fun. We mostly caught Catfish using squid. We must have caught a dozen of them - all a bit too small to keep, but still fun! The pool was amazing. The home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We very much enjoyed our stay here and plan on returning in the future.

Absolutely loved this home! Everything was as expected (in a good way) and I had a wonderful visit. I’d definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our time here! While there were certain things that need to be updated/ maintained, our overall experience was great- the pool was a treat for our kids and fishing off the dock and/or enjoying morning coffee overlooking the canal was amazing. We were also thrilled to be able to bring our dogs along! Carole is super responsive and helpful, though I do wish some of the things were addressed early on in our stay. The screened in porch was torn badly in two places (Elsa rolled in before we got there) and some of the amenities (bikes, kayaks, and canoes) need some maintenance/ replacing. But having said all of that, the house was clean, beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of towels. The TV has an Amazon Firestick so don't plan to watch your weekly network shows... my mother in law was disappointed to miss the Bachelorette but she survived:). And just an FYI, there is no actual natural beach in Hernando Beach! There is a man-made beach close by, with clear, but tea colored water...but it isn't what we had in mind when we think of the beach. It never occurred to us that there'd be no beach in Hernando BEACH!!! Big boating area- dinner at the Silver Dolphin didn't disappoint- ginormous portions!
