Carolyn's place in Searsport is a historic sea captain's sprawling farmhouse in a great location. The home has all the comforts and plenty of places to spread out with a large family or group. The quiet dead end street is steps from a nature preserve in one direction and the historic waterfront in the other. If you like nautical history and arts this place will appeal to you. Carolyn is easy to communicate with and has great knowledge of the area. There is a great working kitchen and comfortable dining room for the family to share memorable meals.

This was our second year staying at Carolyn's place. The house has enough bedrooms with double or larger beds to accommodate our adult children and partners. The antique farmhouse has a cozy feel. It is private but also very convenient to Belfast, Camden and not too long a drive to Acadia. Searsport is an up and coming little town with great shops, restaurants and now a bookstore! We had a great stay!

This home was exactly as advertised. It was a lovely old home which had been expanded and updated. The kitchen was amazing and extremely well stocked, and the laundry was very accessible. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was a wonderful place for family gathering. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to the Balfast area in need of accommodations

We had a wonderful time at Carolyn's home. The setting is gorgeous and very private, the house is spacious, beds are comfortable, the kitchen is amazing with great cookware and utensils, the piano is in tune and plays great. We found the home to be really excellent value for our group and loved that we could bring our dog as well. Carolyn was super responsive -- A+ experience hope to stay again soon! I would recommend this stay without any reservation, loved it!

I grew up on a dairy farm with 5 siblings in Chester County, PA. From the time I was a teenager, my panacea was to spend a week on Islesford in Maine where I painted pictures, made stained glass windows out of found beach glass, played Mozart on the piano and read and discussed poetry with my writer/artist friends. Raised as an activist Quaker, I worked with voter registration in Mississippi, did community organization and helped teenagers get their GED's in eastern Kentucky, taught art in a community college in Harlan County, Kentucky and established one of the first Parent Child Centers that addressed education from birth to three. Because I felt strongly about being with my children from birth to three, I started a small retail business that has since morphed into two retail shops in northern Colorado where we specialize in comfort footwear and clothing. My daughter Maia manages one of our shops where she brings my 3 year old granddaughter Artemis to help in the same way her mother helped me many years ago. Back to Maine. Ever since I was a teenager, I wanted a place in Maine. After searching for over a year, I discovered the slice of heaven that is Heroncrest. It is private and sunny and the views out to the islands are postcard perfect. And it feels so safe! The neighbors are salt of the earth and I would love to share the magic that I found so many years ago with any who wish to create their own memories.
