自我介绍

Vince and I have been together for 15+ years.. We both work in finance and currently reside in Morris County NJ. Vince is of Sicilian descent. Originally from West Orange, NJ and grew up playing in the outdoors- biking, camping, ATVing etc. I was born in Galicia Spain and lived in Wayne NJ until moving to Morris County. Throughout my childhood I have had the privilege of spending summers visiting my grandparents and family in Spain. Hiking, beaching and enjoying the beautiful coastline. As soon as I was able to work, I would squirrel away my money so that I could buy my summer plane ticket and off I went. We’ve spoken to each other about having a vacation home someday. My preference- Beach his preference Mountains. I would overhear him speaking to his friend and would hear words such as “cabin” “woods” “away from everything” “acres and acres” definitely not something that I would enjoy so I would turn a blind eye. Two years ago at 3 am I was wide awake reading news when Vince rolls over in bed and says “ I need to talk to you, it’s really important and I know you aren’t going to be happy” my heart skipped a beat and I squeaked out “What’s the matter?” and he says “Ever since I was little I wanted a place in the mountains, I want a place with lots of property and peace and quiet. I know you hate the woods but I want you to be part of this, I can’t do this without you” I said “Let’s make it happen, it is probably not something I will enjoy with you but I will help you find a place”. He said he had been looking for a place for the past year so I told him to send me specs of what he wanted (definite deal breakers and “nice to haves”). He sent me a few properties, rolled back over and fell back asleep. WHAT THE HECK DO I DO WITH THIS??? Lol I am always up for a challenge and I was wide awake so what the hell…. By morning, as soon as he opened his eyes I showed him what I found. I told him we need to go see this place- I think this is it. Friday morning off we went – as soon as we walked through the door we knew it was the perfect place. Our 14 year old Shih Tzu – Toby made himself right at home. This was IT, It had so much potential, I have to be honest I actually loved it and pictured us sitting by the fire, wine glass in hand watching a movie. Thirty days later we were the proud owners of The Dream- otherwise known as “Il Sogno”. For the next 6 months Vince, Toby and I as well as some family and friends would spend every weekend working on the home – room by room - transforming it into the perfect get-a-way. We planned on using the home more so in the winter months so we threw around the idea of ST Rental allowing others to enjoy our home and recharge for the weekend or week.. The house was in an ideal location – half a mile from Lake Wallenpaupack with lots of property to explore. After six months of working on the home it was almost ready to list… Enter COVID…. Ughhh. We decided move forward anyway and list our home as a ST vacation property. We set aside time each month for us to enjoy with our families and friends. We listed our home May 2020 and did not expect the response that we did. We are flooded with requests to stay especially with travel restrictions and quarantines etc. we knew that we needed to make our home a safe haven. We have an extensive cleaning regimen and make sure the home is properly sanitized before every stay. Summer 2020, Toby’s health started to decline, he had 2 eye enucleation surgeries but this guy knew as soon as we would get to the house he would perk up like a puppy he loved it there. Unfortunately, in August 2020 at the age of 15 we lost our beautiful boy. If you look on our logo he has a permanent place on there at the helm. September 2020 enter our new addition Tyson- early indication that he seems to love it just as much Blood, Sweat and Tears went into making this dream a reality. We hope that those who have shared our home appreciate all that we have done to make it the perfect escape from it all.
