The cottage is private but in the heart of the estate where you might come across estate staff going about their work. A stone throw from the walled garden and it sits above the Findhorn - where you can hear the sound of the river tumbling through the gorge. Access to lovely walks through the woods and by the river from your doorstep. Someone is usually in Glenferness house to help if needed. Traditional stone cottage built in the 1840's. The accommodation is spread over 2 floors and comprises one double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and a bathroom. The sitting room has an open fire and a TV, DVD player and WiFi. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer and a table that seats 6. Phone signal is limited but there is a landline if needed. Parking for two cars.

A comfortable, well-appointed cottage in the most stunning of locations - we really could not have hoped for a better family holiday destination in the highlands! Alex was helpful and generous, there was plenty for the kids to do (trampoline, barn with climbing wall, squash, table tennis and pool) when we weren’t exploring the river, woodland and lochs on the estate or off on trips to the Cairngorms and Moray Coast. Highly recommended for a relaxing yet active getaway!
The second time we’ve stayed at East Stables. A beautiful location, a chance to properly unwind and disconnect. Stunning walks from your doorstep and so much more to do close by. Hosts were friendly and approachable and great communicators. We look forward to coming back.
We had a great stay in the East Stables. The house has all amenities you need with a cozy living room. The estate is very peaceful and beautiful. For kids it is paradise with the trampoline and the barn with all sporting facilities. Within 25 minutes of the house are various shops, restaurants and a supermarket. Communication was clear and quick. We would love to return anytime.
Tanto Alex como Laura fueron muy amables nos ayudaron en la llegada a su linda casa y nos ofrecieron todas las instalaciones que tienen en su finca que son muchos metros cuadrado, nos sentimos como en nuestra casa. además tienen varios senderos para llegar al río, muchísima tranquilidad muy cómodas las camas, hemos pasado diez días maravillosos.
This is a really beautiful place to stay. The cottage is comfortable and the estate is a wonderful place to walk. The views over and along the River Findhorn are exceptional, and remarkably close to the cottage. It's well located for visits to the Cairngorms, Culloden, Loch Ness and the Moray Firth. We had a great time in the surrounding area. We felt very welcome, with friendly and clear communication from Laura before, during and after our stay, but no intrusiveness whatsoever.

We are perched above the river Findhorn surrounded by impressive caledonian woodland on the edge of the Dava moor which gives a sense of peace and tranquillity. It is exceptionally private a mile away from the main road. Closest cafe is a 10 min drive to Logie Steading. Lochindorb castle is a 5/10 mins drive away and Dulsie bridge on the old military road which crosses the Findhorn is 5/10mins away. Also on the estate is the Princess stone, a pictish stone dating back to 1010.
There is no public transport so it is best to come by car.
