We had the most magical Christmas and new year in Wherwell. Erica and John were wonderful hosts (unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Alexander). They gave us space and peace to enjoy our stay but were proactive in making sure everything was okay and were always on hand if we needed anything, even during the busy festive period. The old part of the cottage is cosy and homely, with a delightfully snug sitting room and comfy bedrooms, whilst the extension gives a lighter and airier space for dining and relaxing. The kitchen is small but well equipped, and we managed to prepare a full Christmas dinner for three people without too much trouble. The setting is just perfect, a beautifully peaceful and quaint village, with the gorgeous local church on the doorstep and River Test flowing just metres away. Perfect for walking! We never felt too far away from the amenities of Andover and found ourselves spoiled for local days out. One of the best stays we’ve ever had and will be returning!

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans la magnifique petite maison d'Alexander. La maison et le village sont particulièrement enchanteurs. Nous recommandons vivement ce petit coin de paradis paisible et charmant. Alexander et Erica se sont montrés accueillants et réactifs tout au long du séjour.

A quietly enchanting place. Truly idyllic in every sense of the word. The gentle humming of the bumblebees in the garden, the sun hitting the thatched roofs in the mornings, the gurgle of the river Test nearby. The cottage is impeccably furnished,with great taste and very modern finishings that don’t break with the general aesthetic. Just beware the very short roofs that had my husband banging his head every morning (we’d still come back in a heartbeat though)!
